"We really enjoyed the unique decor and setup. Our room had a separate coffee and sitting area, which allowed one of us to wake up early. The facility also covers heat and cold really well, with different built in heaters, a fan and extra blankets. Only small gripe - it has a fancy TV built into the wall that would not turn off. We suggested that the facility provide directions. On a positive note, the facility gave great directions and reminders in other areas. So, definitely come here if you’re hanging out in Volcano and don’t mind quiet hours starting at 9 pm. The town shuts down early."

"We really enjoyed our stay. The house was nice, but definitely needs some TLC. That did not deter from the beauty of the water below. We saw a turtle nearly everyday. It was a great place to visit all the sites nearby and we enjoyed the small town of Pahoa. The house was furnished well. Kitchen well stocked. We were grateful for the washer and dryer as well! All in all, very relaxing. The beds were good. We had one night that was very wet and it was a little humid in the house. But listening to the waves hit those rocks put me to sleep everytime! "The Bali Temple is a nicely appointed upper-story of a charming house on the SE shore of the Big Island. It has all the "equipment" necessary to hang out, cook for yourself, read, relax. Excellent internet. Washer/Dryer on premise (but, be warned, no TV). Great view of an amazing lava field, and beyond that, the ocean.People younger and more spry than us were out walking on the lava field; it's a short walk to the ocean. Folks were fishing, and actually coming home with fish! There's no beach there, so no swimming within walking distance, but dramatic waves crashing against the lava.Staying here and exploring the neighborhood, you'll see a lot of lava, some of which looks like heaps of cinders (a'a) and others areas like frozen licorice pudding (pahoehoe). Toss in a visit to the Volcano park and you'll be a lava expert, too!"

"We’ve stayed in the Volcano area three times and this was the best accommodation by far. Check-in was flawless and our room was clean, large, and comfortable. The hosts have thought of everything. There was a mini-fridge with freezer and a microwave. There were also a few necessary cups, dishes, silverware and glassware. This is SO important in Volcano, as there are so few dining options. If you bring a well-stocked cooler, you could spend several days here comfortably. We would stay here again."

"2 miles outside of the National Park. Like a self serve bed and breakfast. Clean, spacious, comfortable and so quiet. Breakfast of fruit, toast, oatmeal, granola bars and some pastries. It was fun chatting in the kitchen with other guests. It has a great homey vibe. Large kitchen fridge to hold your groceries. It worked great for us for two nights."
