"HOSHINOYA resort is a great place for relaxation. The environment filled with natural forest and maple trees. The service was exceptional. However, there were mosquitoes problem possibly harvested by the pond in the property. Hopefully the hotel can find solution to help with this problem. Otherwise, this resort is beautiful, quiet, and comfortable. "

"Our stay was relaxing and right off the main road before reaching Toyako. The cabin was very nice and a good size. The food was excellent and the owner very accommodating. If you are looking for a place in town, where you can walk from your room to along the boardwalk and visit shops, this might not be for you. It's a short drive to the town. "This was my first time in Gunma and i cant believe how luckily i got with this stay. Nice, relaxing stay plus they had bikes so i could explore the area and really enjoy the country side. I liked too that the bathroom had a window i could open and view the nice scenary while taking a hot shower. The owner is a really kind guy that is there to ensure you are having a good time and is always open for a nice conversation. I will definitely be staying here each time im in Gunma and i recommend it...

"The lodge was absolutely wonderful. We honestly had not slept as well as we did at the lodge anywhere else in Japan. Not sure if it was the mountain air, the onsen, or the large rooms that allowed us to settle in and spread out. The hospitality was incredible; the hosts went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and at home, including by providing a bountiful breakfast each morning. My husband and I wish we could have stayed there our entire trip!"
