"Stayed here in Spring, which I suspect is a whole different ballgame to Winter. Location was great as we did not have a car. As others note it’s a steep hill to walk up but it’s not long. With many restaurants closed at this time of year having breakfast onsite and the option of buffet dinner at the restaurant was brilliant. The hot baths were great too. "Lovely trip to Hakuba with the family staying at the footstep of the Iwatake slopes. The snow was on and my family and I had a great time. The cottage is lovely, something you would imagine staying at in the snow or by a lake. Has everything you need in it, from the kitchen to the bathroom. Heating was amazing, and the place was so cozy. Only downfall was the standup piano and my daughter thinking she was John Legend so having to listen to that all night did my head in. But in all seriousness, the host was so accommodating and lovely. Came in and gave us a tour of the place to ensure we knew where everything was and how to operate everything. Futons you can double up if you can't handle sleeping on the floor, but my back is the best its ever been for a long time! Our host even gave us a discount card to use at the local ski hire shop right in front of the chair lifts. We used a hire car rather than public transport which suited us well, parking our the front and local supermarket about a 10min drive from the cabin with the laundromat right next door.
