"We had a short trip to Iceland and stayed here, the house was really comfortable and the kitchen has everything you need for a home away from home. It is only a 10 min drive to the centre of Reykjavík and really easy to get on the main roads for travelling around. "

"Svanhildur was an awesome host, always available to any queries and help. The house was clean and beautiful. The kitchen had all the utensils needed and was also well stocked - which was important for us as we did a lot of cooking for a family of 10 people of all ages. "

"The house is in a great location making it easy to walk to restaurants, shopping and local sights. There were 8 of us in our group and more than enough room to accommodate everyone. It is a lovely home. Five stars most definitely. "

"My family of 5 stayed at Ursula’s lovely home for our short visit to Iceland. The home was great for us to have family time, but also our own space to wind down at the end of a busy day. The kitchen was a dream to cook family meals in and my adult children loved the hot tub and close walk to the ocean. It was a wee bit of a drive to Reykjavík, but so worth it. Ursula was kind, responsive, and easy to work with. Highly recommend!"

"Stayed for one night with my husband. Plenty of parking. The one member of staff (30. Oct 2024) who checked us in, cooked our dinner, and cleaned up was awesome. We found it a little inconvenient to exit the reception area to re-enter the area with the rooms, especially as it was drizzling. "If you book here, you will receive check in instructions via email - which likely will go to your spam, so check there! I didn't and ended up disturbing a lovely woman and her very cute dog around 9pm because we didn't know how to check in. When we got into the cabin, we were happy with it and it was comfortable. My only recommendation is to have a shade on the bathroom window because the decorative curtain didn't necessarily give enough privacy for me. I would definitely recommend this...

"Our family stayed at Brekka for the holiday season. The host’s directions were spot on and we found the house no trouble at night,in the snow, and never having been to Iceland before. The house was warm and clean on arrival & fully stocked with all utensils and cooking pots and pans, etc we needed for our stay. The three bedrooms and upstairs loft all got used as sleeping quarters; everyone was comfortable and the blankets sheets and pillows were all clean and inviting for a good night’s sleep....

"We stayed here for 3 nights on our first visit to Iceland. The hotel was in an ideal location - only a 15 minute walk from the bus terminal, right on the Laugavegur street of shops and restaurants but in the quiet area, 5 minute walk to the water edge for some stunning views of mountains. Staff were friendly and helpful, easy check in, clean and spacious rooms with a hot shower and clean bathroom, decent hot and cold breakfast options from 7-10. We had an early check out on our last day and the staff provided an early coffee and croissants before 7:00 (you just need to mention this the evening before). We would definitely recommend this hotel and we would happily stay here again. "
