"Living room was extremely hot in the afternoon. Parking is very limited. Right off of a main road. Underneath neighbors pounded on the floor if us heavy set people walked too hard. My daughter slipped and fell and was crying so they pounded again scaring us. Shower had no pressure. The rooms were nice and cool with portable ac units, beds comfy. "We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the studio. It was lovely, clean and spacious, with a well equipped kitchen. Hilo was a good base for exploring Volcano National Park and the east coast of the island. We appreciated being in a quiet neighborhood but having a car was essential. There is a bus stop nearby but the bus only runs once an hour."

"We have done many VRBO's & Air B&B's and this was by far the best place we have stayed. Absolutely immaculate & comfortable with no amenities missing. You have a gorgeous backyard with a stream fed goldfish pond, seating area, jacuzzi, bbq, and snorkeling equipment. Great location, five minutes to Hilo and central to all the exploring you want to do. Far better than the pictures can convey. If we ever go back to Hilo, this is where we will stay!"

"We didn’t spend too much time in the unit—mostly used it as a home base and place to sleep, but it was excellent for our purpose. Clean and well stocked, and the directions/instructions were clear. Nice area, lots of hiking and things to see nearby (short drives). The beach is harder to get to than a quick glance at the map might indicate, but it’s a nice walk. Check out Mr Ed’s Bakery "

"Mandy is an excellent host. The upgrades and renovations made to the apartment in the last 3 years are excellent. The rental was very clean as well. I would stay again. The only drawback was the noisy neighbor next door. This individual talked loudly all hours of the day and his dog was barking it sounded like on the lanai in the middle of the night. I would suggest that the property management be told of this person's inconsideration of others."

"We opted to stay in Hilo rather than the other side of the island where there are many resorts and more traffic. We had breakfast at the VRBO and then did fun day trips all over the island. The VRBO was clean, quiet and comfortable. We appreciated the reserved parking spot and option to do laundry. Shopping at Safeway and Walmart was convenient. We also really enjoyed the Hilo farmer's market."

"This rental made such good use of the one-acre lot - we enjoyed the mirthful pool and garden area, the garden, ocean and starlight views from an assortment of decks, lanais and gazebos. We felt like we hardly had to leave the property. But just a few minutes up the road were rocky beaches for whale-viewing, bamboo forests with waterfalls, and a cascading stream with refreshing swimming holes. Cannot wait to return to Honomu House."
