"We stayed here for one night in the family room. It was large and clean. There was parking on site and they even had food on the menu for my picky eating kids. "

"For a last minute booking it was alright, I thought at first … bates motel, but when I got in the room, I was pleasantly surprised,there was tea/coffee, it was clean and comfortable… the bar manager who runs it was lovely , and the breakfast was alright too, and what’s better in these times of living is everything was reasonably priced… would I stay again … yeah why not "

"The hotel is located just off the A303 which makes it very convenient as a stopover to or from Plymouth ferry. The place is lovely, staff are friendly and very efficient. The food is just fantastic, great menu with some interesting tasty dishes. The only issue we had was with the bed. The mattress was very tired and soft, which wasn’t that comfortable. Saying that we would definitely go back as the rest of the stay was just lovely. "

"Absolutely beautiful room, lovely and warm especially after arriving cold from our motorcycle journey. Interior design was well thought, well stocked fridge with complimentary lager.sat on the roof terrace on Halloween listening to the owls in the woods , breakfast was great with a good choice, will definitely be back"

"Nice place. Although I didn't eat here, people I know locally have said it's really good. Room was clean and the shower was great. Staff nice and easy check in."

"Bathroom could use a little TLC but fit for purpose. Amazing breakfast that more than made up for any minor cosmetic items. The land-people, actually all of the staff were so welcoming. Definitely worth a visit or night over."

"One night work stay, great check in , free bottle of wine due to Expedia! Clean comfortable room, excellent evening meal with fantastic service Beautiful country inn I would highly recommend the inns directions not your sat nav as I did encounter many narrow lanes to arrive Would definitely return when in the area again "

"4 of us stayed at the Carew Arms for one night to break our journey. The best description is that there is no attempt to disguise or mask the pub's age or history, which is a definite plus. It has the feel of a pub that has stood at the heart of the village for 5 centuries, and still serves it's local community as it always has. The food is simple but hearty, and the snug bar is comfortable, with some excellent local ales. Recommended!"

"Delightful Tudor pub with 7 bedrooms in a quiet village. Tis was a perfect stopover and we particularly enjoyed the breakfast in the main pub area in the morning. Will definitely come back and recommend."

"We were upgraded when we arrived to a room at the front with sea views from both windows. There was a nespresso machine and coffee and tea facility’s. The room rate included breakfast which was a choice of fruit, pastry’s breads and jams and a choice of various cooked breakfasts we out juice and hot drinks. The breakfast was lovely and the staff helpful and friendly . Highly recommend a stay here. "
