"Liked privacy, quiet, clean, list of places to eat, Nigel was very helpful with our difficult overseas payment. Being from rural area it was difficult understanding security but destails were very good, just our lack of ability. I did get locked in bathroom at 3 a.m. as when I tried to get out as the lock fell out of the door handle. "This is a beautiful quiet cottage finished to a high standard with everything you need for a chilled relaxing holiday.Communication with Ray and Julie was great and the pool was an amazing addition to the cottage.The location is perfect for walking Dovedale 30 mins, Tissington trail 20 mins and the Old Dog Pub which was very welcoming 10 minutes walk.Cannot fault the whole package and would not hesitate to revisit in the future."

"Only stopped one night for work, but everything was excellent. Location, secure gated free parking and whilst the room was small and without aircon, it was clean, comfy and fantastically priced at £40. Highly recommend."

"Rooms a little dated but staff were excellent, parking very close and ample, location just off the M6 fantastic. Room was quiet and dark with lights off, heating sufficient to stave off the -7 degrees weather we had. Showers powerful and warm."

"What a beautiful establishment to stay in. Hospitality was excellent. Coming from New Zealand and experiencing a true English atmosphere and old world charm. Great to read about the history of The Swan. The cost was amazing. Best place so far on our Europe trip. Thanks very much to the cleaning team and staff who accommodated and made our stay enjoyable. "

Good overall experience.

"Simple hotel with leisure facilities. Staff friendly and engaging. Food menu was varied and what I tried was all great standard. Bar was well stocked. Some may find the bar area noisy others will describe as vibrant. Rate was comparable with similar, the pool/steam room and sauna made the difference for me. Never used the gym. "
