"A nice hotel. A fair price for a room. The rooms are very small. No where to place a large suitcase except on the bed if you want to open it. I’d stay here again. "

"I'm vacating my apartment in mons so have been staying at a number of local hotels. Stayed in room 113 for a week. My only negative is no aircon which would be a nightmare in the summer, they do supply a big noisy fan. Perhaps B&B who are new owners will install aircon? Other than that it was an excellent stay, free coffee downstairs 24/7 and a room with a bath. We didn't bother with breakfast as plenty of shops/cafes in Mons. Very comfortable bed, i slept very well. Would recommend the B&B...

"Staff were polite. Breakfast was ok and decent for the price (about 14 euros). I stayed in a tree house, which seemed a little neglected from a cleaning and maintenance perspective. The shower drained slowly and I asked the front desk to have someone look at it - not sure if they did. There were several smashed dead bugs that hadn't been cleaned off the walls, and the window leaked when it rained. I think it could have been a really cool place - just needs some love."

"Have stayed in a number of Mons hotels whilst i vacated my apartment in the town. This included 2 stays at the van der valk during October 2024. This time in room 103 for a week, nice big clean room, shower only. Very convenient for getting to my apartment and into the centre of town. Didn't use parking or breakfast. IKEA is 10 mins walk away and do a hot breakfast for a few euros. Also 10 mins walk to cafes etc. Van der Valk is easily best hotel in Mons, happy to recommend "

"Bin in bathroom had previous occupants rubbish. Bin in bedroom not emptied during entire stay. Pubic hairs in corner of bathroom, still there 5 days later. Sheets not changed for 5 nights despite cut elbow blood on sheets on first night and 27-30 degree heat. If opened window before 10pm fumes from next door extractor fan enveloped room and no air con available just fan for 30 degree heat. "

"Once you understand that this is a rustic classical hotel with an Old Farmhouse feel you can relax and enjoy the experience , a modern trendy place this is not. It does have a fridge and kettle in the room , the hot water in the bathroom takes an age to arrive but is fine once it does. As mentioned in other reviews the floorboards creak and it was nessesary to leave the wardrobe door ajar to prevent it creaking when someone passes the room . Its rustic and charming in its own way. "

"I've stayed there before. You can't beat the price and convenience. One block off the grande place and lots of great restaurants on the street down to the grande place, underground parking, breakfast. It's perfect."

"Nice rustic hotel. Room very spacious and full equipped Location is good Cleanest is good Reception is good. The only problem was the shower door which was very difficult to open and close - must be fixed. Special thanks to Suzanne for instructions. Room 1002 WiFi is ok Because of that 4*. I hope it helps. "This was the nicest place to stay, we hade the quadruple room on the ground floor and it was perfect for us. The bed was great as it was adjustable. We had arrived early after an overnight ferry and the host was happy to give us access well before the check in time , which meant we could have an unexpected trip to Brussels (which he helped us with, giving us advice on the local trains etc).. "Perfect location for walking to the sights or catching public transit. Front desk staff was oriented and very kind and helpful. Despite food menu at the bar area I was told there is no food available (there is a nice cafe for breakfast) so drinks but no food to go with. Nice room - very well appointed with plenty of towels!! Great value for the money!!"

"We stayed at this hotel during a recent trip to Brussels. We picked it because it was close to the things that we were planning to do. It ended up being a little further away than we had anticipated, but still a walkable distance from the medieval city center and the entertainment district. The hotel is beautiful and situated right next to the city botanical Gardens. It is safe and the staff was so kind and welcoming to us. We had wonderful amenities. This hotel State was halfway through our two week trip and so we enjoyed having a nice restaurant and Access to services and concierge. We would definitely stay at another Hoxton property. "
