"Karl Johan is a fantastic option for a stay in Oslo. The biggest pros: the central location, within walking distance to everything; the large, fresh breakfast selection; and the spacious rooms. We were surprised by the room size, especially compared to other European-style hotels—they’re quite large and overlook the street. I had read a few complaints about loud music, but we didn’t experience anything like that; it was generally quiet, even on the weekend. The building has a charming old-world style, and we really had no complaints. It felt like great value for the cost for our group, spread across three different rooms."

"Fast check in and an offer to have a tub or shower as there was one tub left. Given tons of info about operations and was offered a work around for breakfast as I had to leave way earlier than breakfast started. Service in the lounge was fantastic the evening of Oct 26, not as great the evening of the 27th. Still fine, but not as good. The hotel is stunning! "

"It's a good place to stay if you plan to drop your stuff off and go. The rooms and beds are small but have your bare necessities. Very clean and the WiFi was great for letting things download while your away. "
