This is probably the worst 5star hotel we have ever stayed in. Great location. That is the only positive On arrival no one to open the front door to welcome into the hotel. Tired communal areas. The room was tiny, filthy dirty and so below standard we had to ask to be moved. Moved to another room l. Chipped paint on the walls, dust in the air filters. No turndown service, a faulty kettle, broken handles on the external windows. Spa the massages were great but the spa facilities very tired. The steam room smelt damp and musty so we didn’t use. On checkout the car was asked to be charged overnight, it wasn’t so left for airport and had to spend 1hour on the way to recharge. Not 5 star in anyway at all. 2 star at best. If you want 5 star, the Theif is similar priced and so so much better on every level.

This is a beautiful hotel located in the centre of Oslo. Very conveniently located, close to transit and very walkable area. The hotel staff were superb, extremely helpful. The hotel offers good value for the money. Would not have wanted to stay anywhere else.

Staff were so welcoming and so helpful. Booked a junior suite for our final night in Norway and the room was simply divine. Breakfast was perfect also, would not hesitate to come back.

This property is grand like its name. The young man who checked us in was delightful. We just had a standard king room, average size, it was nice, bathroom was a good size and shower very nice. We didn’t utilize too much of the wonderful space the hotel had to offer due to several events at the hotel that seemed to have the staff preoccupied and not able to tend to “regular” paying guests. There was a wedding dress fashion show one day that consumed the entire bar, lobby, and restaurant. There was a prime minter visiting from Finland on another day, we assumed he was staying at the hotel with all the police presence and staff shuffle. The staff didn’t seem to know what was open, what was closed, and we never really enjoyed the full experience of the hotel, like restaurant, bars, lobby seating space, etc. However, it’s a beautiful top notch hotel in a wonderful area within walking distance of everything. We had a drink in the bar one night. The mixologist was skilled, but not friendly, disappointing given that was the only time we really were able to use that space in the hotel. Cocktails were great though! Beautiful hotel.

The hotel is beautiful, beautiful chandeliers and fixings.Staff is very professional. The front desk is efficient and taking care of things well. Disappointed that the prices didn’t include breakfast though! Also the rug in the halls is surprisingly dirty,

A pleasant 10 minutes walk from Oslo Center Railway this hotel is the best Oslo has to offer! The cordial atmosphere of the staff while maintaining strict decorum is exceptional. Their warmth is extremely pleasant since we found some rather gruff city employees in Oslo. Service is impeccable and timely! We enjoyed dinner here our first evening. The setting is beautiful filled with artworks and all the best examples of fine dining including excellent traditional cocktails like my favorite a Manhattan. Every course from my starter of duck pate, main of duck breast and a local fish, to dessert was delicious and mouth watering! We loved the elegant dining we experienced that evening! The wine list is outstanding and affordable. Our room was lovely and more than adequate for our needs. Nice linens and towels with wash cloths also! We highly enjoyed and recommend a good stay at Grand Hotel Oslo with its perfect location. Robert and Charlene Stuart October 2024

The location and exterior charm are outstanding, however, the inside could use a refresh. The lobby is nice, but hallways and rooms are a bit tired. Prior to arriving we made online reservations for the rooftop bar, Eight, which was one of the reasons we picked the hotel. When we arrived, we were told the bar is closed on Tuesdays. Very frustrating. Additionally, when I asked for alternative recommendations, staff could not provide any suggestions for cocktail bars OR dinner. Please train your staff to provide this basic information to guests. Please also fix your online reservation system to indicate the bar is closed on Tuesdays and not to accept reservations!!

Excellent rooftop bar and basement wine bar. Extensive breakfast. Staff very helpful. Only negatives , no ramp to get luggage up stairs in foyer and floors 4-5, and outward opening doors have to be locked with swipe card when leaving but nothing on door regarding this. Luck that we realised as always check door when leaving however our friends were unaware and inadvertently left door open.

This was my second stay the Grand Hotel Oslo, the first time being quite a few years ago. It’s even better than I remembered. Great staff, well appointed room and the rooftop bar is a joy to hang out at. I’ll be back.

no luggage racks so had to have suitcases on floor which was difficult with bad backs. if bathroom light was turned off, the electric outlet inside bathroom did not work. therefore we could not use a nightlight. bathtub was so deep. very difficult to climb in and out of bathtub. my husband hurt his toe climbing into the bathtub. breakfast buffet was excellent!!!
