"The best thing about this hotel was the staff: Everyone I interacted with - from reception to the staff at breakfast - was really friendly and went out of their way to help. Service with a smile. Lots of choice at breakfast and the warm food was warm, which isn’t always the case for buffets! The rooms themselves are basic and tired - no coffee facilities, no iron, just one soap for hair/body. "Staff were very attentive and welcoming. Lovely building and dining room and bar were tastefully presented. Bed rooms were large and appropriately kitted out. There was some marks/wear on some of the carpets on the stairs and in the room and the pillows were not the most comfortable. However, overall an enjoyable stay within a convenient distance from Brussels etc."

"It's a budget property, in a less than popular area, close the the midi station and a short walk to everything in the city centre. The out of hours arrangement was perfectly ok, though getting through the front door was challenging. All the icons were rubbed out, so makes it difficult to press the right keys, but they've promised to replace the key pad. Sadly the WiFi was none existent, pretty poor when all cafés and centres have copious WiFi in this developed city!! But sadly not at Smartflats...

"Love are stay at this apartment. We were very well welcome and had easy access to their private secure parking lot just under the building for 20 euros. It is close to everything. Lots of restaurant around the hotel even offers free coffee 24/7. Apartment was well equipped with all the amenities . The only thing I can add is it’s starting to show its age a bit, but not a big deal for us."

"We drove in from Amsterdam so parking across the street at a reasonable daily rate was much appreciated. Located amidst numerous restaurants and within minutes from the Grand Plaza was also a plus. But the best attribute of this hotel is its staff. One of their best is Betty Kwakala who turned what would have been a disastrous vacation for us into a happy and wonderful journey. "
