"The proprietor, Ed, took pride in the establishment. There was time taken and attention to detail in the room, as well as the outside of the Inn, being decorated for Christmas. The room was clean and very accommodating. The Inn was in walking distance to dining, shops, and the train depot. I would definitely stay at Calhoun Inn & Suites again and highly recommend it to those travelling to that area, or for those looking for a weekend get-a-way. "

"We stayed here while we were visiting the Great Smoky Mountain Railroad. We arrived in the evening, after check-in time, so they left an envelope at the door with all the information to access our room. Everything was perfect and breakfast on both Saturday and Sunday mornings was amazing. We loved it."

"The property is in good shape with plenty of parking and an accessible,e ramp. The room was spacious and clean..the staff was very nice and accommodating. This is obvious;y off season and not many were staying there so breakfast was available by asking at the front desk. The wifi was weak and mostly didn't;t reach my room on the 3nd floor making my ability to do business a real pain. I had an online interview which I had to do from the lobby. Not ideal. "

"It was one of the best Christmas’ I have had in a long time. This place is amazing and I will be definitely staying again. The trails were hiker friendly. The directions for the room was detailed and very specific. This was a much needed break from society that I needed. The space is beautiful. "

"I am obsessed with the property and the bus! My husband and I stayed for a night with our three toddlers while taking a night off from section hiking the AT. We all slept in the king bed in the back which was INSANELY comfortable. The hosts are a super sweet little family. Our laundry was done for a small fee very quickly. Excellent stay!

"We had a wonderful time at the Rockhouse! We were up for a gymnastics event at Harrah’s and needed somewhere that would fit our family of 5 and both sets of grandparents. This fit us perfectly! The kids absolutely LOVED the bunk room and the games. When we were at the house, they’d disappear to that room until we called them downstairs. The kitchen was great and roomy enough for all 3 of us ladies to get in there. I do want to let others know since we didn’t until we got there: the two queen rooms are on the main floor and have glass French doors between them. They are covered but it still made for an awkward feel for the two sets of grandparents to sleep. They made it work and we had a great time. I just wanted to point that out since it’s not obvious in the pictures or description. They do have their own doors to exit to the rest of the house. The owner is fantastic and easy to communicate with. We had to miss our first night because our gymnast came down with something, but thankfully she recovered quickly and we were able to come for the rest of our stay. Then a small kids’ purse got left behind and the owner was so kind to locate it and nail it back to us, making my daughter’s day! It was a great place to stay that worked for all of our needs! "

"We stayed here for a long weekend for Martin Luther King weekend. Weather wasn’t great, but the townhome was. Everything was as it should have been with no issues at all. Will definitely stay her again. We loved being able to walk to everything on Everette street"

5/5 Stars – Perfect Cozy Stay in the Heart of Bryson City!

"We had an amazing stay at this charming cottage! The location is unbeatable—just a short and easy walk to downtown Bryson City and the railway. We visited for the Polar Express and had a wonderful time. Even my elderly stepfather, who struggles with stairs and walking, was able to make the trip effortlessly.This is a classic small mountain town with a mix of older homes, which adds to its charm. If you’re expecting modern luxury homes, this isn’t the area—but the cottage itself is like visiting Grandma’s house in the best way. It’s quaint, cozy, and so welcoming.The house was immaculately clean, which is a big deal for me. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and the kitchen had everything we needed to cook meals. The host even left us holiday shortbread cookies, which was such a sweet touch! There’s also a hot tub, Wi-Fi, smart TVs, and little extras like a foosball table and games.We brought my parents’ dogs along, and it was such a relief to have a pet-friendly place where they could join us. The host was kind and accommodating, and while we didn’t need anything during our stay, I felt confident they’d have helped if we had.This cottage was the perfect spot for a relaxing getaway. It’s reasonably priced, incredibly close to everything, and just felt like home. We’ll definitely stay here again next time we visit Bryson City. Highly recommend!Thank you for a wonderful stay!"
