"We were one day late to check in and the staff were extremely friendly. But the location is right inside the old town and not easy to find. We had two small children below 10 and two luggages to pull around. The neighborhood was sketchy. (when we search for the hotel, we walk around a road with prostitutes and pee on the ground). "This property was a DUMP!!! I have booked multiple properties in many locations through Expedia and have come to expect that anything in their list would provide a good experience. This is NOT the case with Hotel Europa. There was no air-conditioning in the rooms -- the unit was there but the control knob was broken and it did not work. "Talk about value for money! A very nice 3 bedroom B&B with a roof terrace in the Old Town of Genoa. Large, modern and clean rooms. Excellent service and a friendly and service minded owner. It is on the 4th floor without elevator, so you have to walk up the 105 steps! But it is worth it."
