"Unbelievable night here. Views of lake Ashi and Mount Fuji the best you can get. Even from our personal onsen or balcony footpath. The kids loved watching a movie on the big projector while the parents enjoyed the view. Fridge full of free gifts of food, wine and beer plus soft drinks also. Nice touch. "If it is in the very heart of things—the train station, multiple bus routes, all manner of dining options, with a view of Mt. Fuji to boot (though our view was partially obstructed by an electric pole and transformer). "We absolutely loved our stay at Cottage Yushin and would recommend that anyone staying at/around Lake Kawaguchi stay here as this side of the lake was very quiet and not nearly as crowded as the other side near Kawaguchi Station (the side where Mt Fuji is). "We had a very brief stay and it was clean, comfortable and as described on the website. Very happy. About 8-10 min walk from train station, beautiful walk over the footbridge. Only issue is lack of restaurants after 19:00 and we never received our code to check in to the room-luckily staff was onsite to quickly assist!"

"The fully contained apartment was a pleasure to stay in. It was private, comfortable and uniquely Japanese.for a split level space. There were plenty of futon beds and the kitchen had all that we needed. The attic bedroom was comfortable but does not have standing room. Thank you for a unique Japanese stay."

"I stayed in this very nice apartment. Everything is very new and very nice. It is small, but it was fine for me by myself. Be aware there is no parking on the premises and I ended up parking my car twenty minutes away by foot (it was hard to find any paid parking). There are also no shops close by (convenience store, super market, restaurants, etc.), so you will need to walk for everything. Owner was very helpful when I had questions and when I needed to extend my stay by a night."

"We stayed for three nights and it was marvellous. It is a larger, more hotel like ryokan but still has a very tranquil atmosphere, and was great for families like ours. There are two public onsen — they switch between men and women daily — and both are spacious and serene. It was such an experience soaking in the onsen under the stars, looking out onto the mountains. The rooms are spacious and the private balcony bath which fills with hot spring water at the touch of a button is a lovely touch. The buffet breakfast and dinner were both very good for buffet offerings. The staff were friendly and went above and beyond to help."

"This property is great and had very friendly staff! The price was incredible and we booked day of! The only complaint is have is the bed was really hard! But other than that our stay was amazing! They also have lockers you can use on the day of checkout to store luggage until you leave the Mt. Fuji area! "

"Excellent onsen ryokan at a very competitive price. You to select three 50 minute sessions in one of the three on-site onsens per day (one in the morning, two in then evening). The staff were friendly and accommodating. It's a bit of a hike uphill from the station but nothing someone moderately fit can't handle."

"Amazing hotel with stunning views of Lake Ashi. All-inclusive resort style, with Breakfast and dinner buffet included. Onsen with indoor and open air pools, all necessary toiletries provided, toothbrush/toothpaste, razors, q tips, combs, amazing skin care products! The Hakone Ropeway is just a 3-5 minute walk. It was a very relaxing and rejuvenating stay. Definitely recommend and would love to stay here again!"
