"Loved the warm welcome drink and hospitality. The grounds are beautiful and our room was over the top with all natural wood and stone decor. Our surname posted on the front door was a nice personalized touch! We loved the balcony hammock and jacuzzi tub, fireplace, and bathroom waterfall! Access to La Paz Waterfall Gardens for a huge aviary, exotic wildlife and gorgeous waterfalls. The property is terraced on a hill so lots of stairs."

"It's very out of the way, a little hard to find, but beautiful. Not fancy, clean, rustic. Cute. Great breakfast. Only one restaurant close by, but they told us that the other restaurants deliver. There is a 'kitchenette' in the room, so you can bring some groceries if you like. Or reheat leftovers. "

"Staying here for 2 days was the best part of our trip to Costa Rica! We were treated like family! Albert Alonso the owner is a wonderful chef and he makes everything himself. From bread to pizza, pies and everything in between. He also went over and beyond and called around to find a personal guide to show us around the area that was honest and trustworthy. "Great hotel. German college interns always available and very helpful. Only drawback, nobody, including cab drivers, could find this place. We stayed 2 nights and BOTH nights we journeyed out only to find that taxi drivers had no idea where this place was and that was AFTER showing them the address card that the hotel had given us. Very Weird."

"The start of my stay was very upsetting with a rude security guard who is obsessed with reverse parking. I could speak a reasonable amount of Spanish but my parents can not - he was so mean and angry they did not understand - I was translating to ensure they parked in a way he was happy with. I reported it to the owner but it didn’t seem like the issue was dealt with. "I arrived early on a Tuesday after flight delays. The place was nice- a lot of construction going on- but nice. Pool looked like it needed a shock but it’s not yet hot enough. Walked into town and enjoyed good food at La casa de Layla. The host was nice. I missed breakfast because I was sleeping soundly. Comfy spot to get adjusted to Tico life. "
