"Lake Hotel Gistihusid Egisstadir was night 6 for us on our journey around Iceland’s famous ring road. This hotel was seemed a little out of the way but perfectly placed for our itinerary. There was an on-site restaurant, and many groups stayed for the night. The atmosphere was vibrant, and the guests all seemed very happy. We stayed in a ground-floor room that overlooked the countryside. It was remote and peaceful. We had a lovely evening here. "

"There were some bugs when we arrived. They were getting in through some door trim looked to have come undone due to high winds. Overall, we enjoyed this property and the restaurant. Very friendly and they have good gin. "

I thought they will be offering breakfast so I wasn’t prepared to make it and we had to go to the next town (only 15-20min drive) as there was nothing available in that area. But otherwise it is great that they have a kitchen and a refrigerator. Sunrise was amazing "

The name is either Havarí Hostel or Bráz Hostel, they might or might not have breakfast included (we didn't find any), and they might or might not have laundry services (we also couldn't find this). "We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Bjarg. The best way to describe our room is homey. We were greeted at the door by the owner (I wish I knew his name) He told us stories about the area, suggested sites to see, told us about when he worked on a fishing vessel... We thoroughly enjoyed listing to his stories. The room, though not very big, was clean, and everything was in good working order. It felt like we were staying with friends at their house. We had a room with an attached bathroom....
