"The staff was great and very friendly. We were upgraded to a room with terrace, which was nice. Outstanding breakfast buffet ( one of the finest we’ve encountered), though expensive. Pleasant riverside bar (though the live vocal combo was consistently off pitch). Evening dining options were weak and neighborhood seemed isolated. Not sure it gives a visitor a sense of the real pulse of Bangkok, which would be our primary objection"

"One of the few old style hotels left in Bangkok. It's traditional and grand in. great location. Also a bit worn out and could use a touch up. Club Lounge was just ok and despite having many restaurants, they are all just OK. nothing amazing which is a pity. maybe better to have fewer but better restaurants. But still always a favourite place to stay or visit in Bangkok, mostly for the old school charm. "
