5/5 Excellent
A joy of a place to start our Vietnam holiday
"All the staff at the Grand Hotel Saigon were unfailingly helpful, efficient and pleasant during our stay.
We enjoyed cocktails and dinner in the rooftop bar and restaurant (Tip: Ask for the Vietnamese menu if you want to eat Vietnamese food. There is a separate menu for those wanting western food).
We had a very comfortable, clean room on the 8th floor of the “Ancient” wing. There is a luxury wing but I have no read out on that. As we are ourselves a bit ancient, the "Ancient" Wing seemed quite appropriate! Lol!
Breakfast in the Saigon Palace each morning is a joy with a fine buffet of both broader Asian and Western foods. However, do not miss out on the noddle and egg station for a breakfast pho or sensational omelettes, and eggs of any style. Notably, it is also the source for proper crispy streaky bacon! Yum!
The hotel is situated well in the centre of District 1 and there is much within easy walking distance.
This is a great hotel to be welcomed into Vietnam on arrival or as a comfortable farewell.
