"All the staff at the Grand Hotel Saigon were unfailingly helpful, efficient and pleasant during our stay. We enjoyed cocktails and dinner in the rooftop bar and restaurant (Tip: Ask for the Vietnamese menu if you want to eat Vietnamese food. There is a separate menu for those wanting western food). We had a very comfortable, clean room on the 8th floor of the “Ancient” wing. There is a luxury wing but I have no read out on that. As we are ourselves a bit ancient, the "Ancient" Wing seemed quite appropriate! Lol! Breakfast in the Saigon Palace each morning is a joy with a fine buffet of both broader Asian and Western foods. However, do not miss out on the noddle and egg station for a breakfast pho or sensational omelettes, and eggs of any style. Notably, it is also the source for proper crispy streaky bacon! Yum! The hotel is situated well in the centre of District 1 and there is much within easy walking distance. This is a great hotel to be welcomed into Vietnam on arrival or as a comfortable farewell. "

"Very nice hotel overlooking the river. We like new stuffs, not antique, but this hotel surprised us, and exceeded our expectation. Though it bears the age of 99, it's renovated top to bottom, while keeping the tastefully decorated features, such as the tiny but elegant elevator in the lobby area, the crystal lights so many that wowed us, the swimming pool, the antique-designed bathroom fixtures...etc Strong water pressure of the shower, made us wonder, how could this be from a small antique shower head? One of the most spacious rooms we had rented in HCMC, and the best variety of breakfast choices. Here, you can enjoy the delicious breakfast indoor or outdoor, with the river view as a bonus. All the staff in all departments have been very helpful. "
