"I feel I received the best service and the best room possible at We Home. I did see a few other rooms in the building in passing and they weren't as nice as the one I got, so it really depends on which one you get. Having a smart TV with YouTube and Netflix was very luxurious and it really helped me relax as I'm a solo traveler. "Great location, within walking distance from downtown. The first floor has poor view of city, surrounded by old building. Not like what being shown in the photos. The room has fouling smell. Bath towel and bed also have that smell. Sorry to say we have bad experience about the hygiene as the smell is a real red flag."

"The owner stiffed me big! My exact lodging’s 4.45USD including all taxes and fees and with current exchange rate 23,200VND/USD, that came to about 103240VND. So the most the owner should charge me is 105,000-110,000VND but she asked for 200,000VND. "I wasn't even able to stay here! The phone number listed is incorrect, the Expedia message system was useless. I ended up taking a cab to what I thought was the correct address (it is listed as a street in Ward 1, but every district has a Ward 1, and this street is common to many districts) based on its location on Goggle maps. French Colonial Hotel in Central Saigon

"Au Lac Charner hotel is a gem of a find right in the heart of bustling Saigon. This French colonial hotel has beautiful decor and has maintained its traditional feel. It is elegant with its understated colours and is bright. There is some quirkiness too. Our room has a Jaccuzzi-style bath in the bedroom and the shower is on the open-air balcony. Happily there are blinds to block prying eyes or 'the missus' would have had kittens. The hotel is clean and we loved that they offered free afternoon tea every day. It was always welcome to refresh us from the intense heat of the city. What makes Au Lac Charner stand out is its people. The staff are smiling, helpful, informative and willing. The star of the show, however, was Robert who checked us in at reception and whom we saw in several supervisory roles throughout our four-day stay. He always remembered our names, joked with us and was a mine of information. He guided us on places to eat, where to buy Vietnamese gifts (not tacky souvenirs) and helped us when we needed transportation. This is my sixth time to stay in hotels in Ho Chi Minh City and whilst they have all been good, it is Au Lac Charner which stands out as the best. We will be back, of that I am certain."
