"This is quite an old establishment, probably a former coaching inn. As such, it is a little old-fashioned, in need of some modernisation, but I feel that this is reflected in the price, which was very good value and included a very nice breakfast."

Had to ask a couple of times for the wine list, the wine wasn’t overly cold, etc. Breakfast was average, food wasn’t great and the service a bit hap hazard. The room was spacious, a little tired and worn but comfortable. "

"Arrived at thevagreed time to find the doors locked. Tried to ring but nobody picked up. Eventually someone heard me knocking and opened the door. Check in was straightforward after that. Room was small but had all you needed. Wifi was good. Desk space was small but ok. Dinner was good. Had a good nights sleep. Breakfast included and looking at the cooked option it looked very nice. Sadly i just had some cereal and juice (my choice). Paid on check out. Parking was free. Overall nice place...

"This is a beautiful inn inside and out with great inside and outside dining facilities as well. If you only think to visit Hay-On-Wye dyring the book festival you are missing out on all the other wonderful attributes of the region. The walking is fabulous, ancient wooded footpath along the River, Mouse Castle Woods, Hay Castle, the outdoor market huge ancient Yew trees at Cusop's St. Mary's church.
