"Visited for our 32nd wedding anniversary and was not disappointed. Booked a classic double room but when we arrived were informed that they upgraded us to an executive room which was really large and immaculately prepared. We had use of the spa facilities if needed for additional cost but free use of the swimming pool, jacuzzi and sauna for 1 hour per day which made for a relaxing time after a long walk around York. Breakfast was really nice with a large choice of continental and cooked...

"Seamless checkin and got room a couple of hours before we were due to check in. Dirty pillowcase looked like it had been stood on."

"Lovely hotel and staff. Location is great - in a safe residential area and walkable into the town. Our courtyard room is a bit noisy from other guests’ bathrooms, backs onto a private resident’s garden. No window views unless you stand and can see into their garden(!). Overall, a very nice hotel, comfortable."

"It is such a beautiful and peaceful place. The lodge was very clean, spacious and well equipped. Walking along the lake is beautiful. There's lots of nice activities too so especially for children. We took a speed boat in the lake which was exciting. We enjoyed the pool and jacuzzi, the minigolf, playing ping pong and the arcade. The food in the restaurant was delicious too. We'll definitely be going again :)"

"IBIS was closed so we were very kindly upgraded to the Grand for no extra cost and what an upgrade If you've booked while the ibis is being refurbished then definitely make sure you answer your phone to ensure the transfer goes through as you could miss it (call comes from leeds for some reason!)"

"Always great when we stay at the little hide. We have been a few times just me and my fellas little getaway. Its our peace place with out the kiddies. Lovely and quite this time of year. Was on the cold side with the weather but the heater in the pod was amazeing at keeping you toastie. The only down fall for me was the magpie that seemd to haunt me whilst there hahaha. Really funny. The cafe food is excellent good price. Absolutely love this place."
