"Professional,friendly welcome. Free upgraded room. Lovely spacious room and the air conditioning was most welcome on an unseasonly hot September day. The bed was very comfortable and the room and bathroom were spotless. They offer free luggage storage for their guests which is a bonus if you want to explore before you check in or after you check out."

"Reception staff were great, really friendly and checkin was quick and easy. In the room our bedside lights did not work, so had to have full lights on all the time. Toilet door did not have a catch so needed to lock to keep it closed. Window wouldn't close and was open all the time, good job it has triple glazing. Not enough tea making facilities...only enough milk, teabags and coffee to make 1 drink a day per person. Castaway bar... great service, good food really tasty."

"The hotel is surrounded by many bars and restaurants that are open to 6am in a very busy and noisy area, but the room was totally sound proofed and heard heard absolutely no noise. The staff are all very friendly and extremely helpful and really couldnt do enough for us. It was my sons birthday and they filled our room with balloons and left a birthday gift. I will definitely be recommending The Resident to friends who are planning a trip to Liverpool."

"The man at reception was lovely when we check in ,but there was a young girl there at the time we checked out,she didnt have the decency to say thankyou or goodbye if i would of known i would not of bothered ! We had to be moved from 412 as the room looked worse for wear ,it felt as if it was let out to stag or hen doo's toilet roll holder was broken ,scruffs all over paint works,damp patch on ceiling ,marks on wall paper,shower door missing,we complained and was moved the next day but we had to...

"Great location, nice rooms, quite spacious and modern. Air con was an added bonus. Really liked the bar area, it was relaxing and roomy. Had to wait for 20mins to be seated at breakfast, I’m assuming not enough staff on shift, but they were all friendly and hard working. "

"The hotel was quite clean and typical of a Holiday Inn. The employees make this place excellent. From Owen at the front desk to Lindsay at the breakfast. Over and above helpful. Thank you!. Only complaint is I booked a KING and think our room was a Queen and it was like a trampoline. Very bouncy. Otherwise very quite and safe. Lots of party bars and places close by and sights and the shopping is quite good. "
