While I tend to choose places with flawless reviews, this time, I trusted my instincts and gave Waterfront on Glacier a shot, despite some mixed past feedback. The recent praise for its renovations, stylish furnishings, and overall experience convinced me, and I’m so glad I took the chance. From the moment I walked in, I knew this place was special. The boutique-style charm, the scent of fresh wood, and the cozy atmosphere set it apart from generic hotels. Even the restroom flooring had a traditional touch that added to the authentic Alaskan feel. Now, let’s talk about Zach. If there’s one thing that made this stay truly unforgettable, it was him. His customer service is on another level, friendly, responsive, and genuinely invested in making guests comfortable. He personally made sure we had rooms next to each other and was always ready to help. A few things to note: The waterfront balcony view is stunning, but there’s some street noise. The hotel is still undergoing renovations, so there’s no restaurant yet, but Zach mentioned it will be ready by mid-May. The front desk isn’t staffed 24/7, but a quick call gets immediate assistance. Would I return? Absolutely. This place exceeded my expectations, and thanks to Zach’s unmatched hospitality, it’s now my go-to in Juneau. "

"Business trip for 2 nights. Cool little hotel. Rooms are small but well furnished and cozy. It wasn’t a problem per se for me, but there isn’t 24/7 coverage at the front desk. When there was someone in the small lobby, they were most professional and friendly. No complaints about this hotel. "

"The description for the place was incredibly accurate. Check in was very easy and the host was kind, courteous, and responsive to any messages or questions we had. The place is super well designed - bright, clean, and modern with lovely and comfortable furnishings. They've paid attention to even the small details like making sure there's laundry pods and luggage racks in the closet. The rooms were a great size and the windows were huge - allowing in tons of natural light. You're about an 10 minute walk to the Foodland and 15 minutes to downtown proper. You're super close to the airport too. Everything felt super convenient and we were excited to use the Chalet as our base hub while we explored Juneau. We absolutely loved our stay and it made our first trip to Alaska all the more enjoyable. We definitely want to come back now and we'll keep our fingers crossed the Chalet is available for us again!"

The inn is steeped in Juneau’s history, offering a unique charm that makes you feel connected to the town’s past. The hosts, Elizabeth and Bing, are incredibly hospitable, professional, and friendly. They went above and beyond to provide us with excellent recommendations for exploring Juneau, all of which turned out to be perfect for our visit. The highlight of our stay was the delicious Christmas dinner they prepared and shared with us—a truly special and heartwarming gesture. The breakfasts were equally amazing: hearty, fulfilling, and the perfect way to start the day. Our room was cozy and full of authentic historic details that added to the inn’s character. It was an amazing stay, and we wouldn’t hesitate to return. Highly recommend Alaska’s Capital Inn to anyone visiting Juneau!"

"This is the second time I've stayed and would absolutely stay again. The views of the water are fabulous and it's short walk from town. The whole house is very well stocked with plenty of sitting room for many guests. There are games and books to keep yourself entertained while at home and the kitchen is fully stocked with whatever cooking you might want to do. The host was great to work with as well and was very accommodating and responsive to whatever questions or needs arose during our stay. You can squeeze three smaller cars into the driveway - and that's a lot for downtown Juneau! "
