It turns out that after intensive inspections after the recent earthquake, the building was determined to be unsafe. There were personal on the scene which transported us to a nearby hotel ( The Palace) which truned out great. "The hotel has very nice grounds and nice view, the closes place is Montanita which is about 10 minutes by bus. When I arrived I was the only guest. The help does not speak any English . The owners are very nice. They come there for the weekend. I had problems with Mosquitos, no hot water. No water, and no electricity. The room I stayed in had very small windows. They have a great breakfast. You should come here only if you have a car"
