"Spent Thanksgiving at this large home in the mountains. We had plenty of bedrooms, a well equipped kitchen large open living room and plenty of games and puzzles for everyone. The hot tub was clean and had a beautiful view. The only downsides were.... a few plumbing fixtures that badly need updated, one of the bathrooms had a shower with an ‘out of order’ notice (would’ve been nice to know we were going to be short a shower) and one of the toilets in an en suite bathroom upstairs had a slow...

"This was our second stay at Riverside Retreat and we hope to come back in the future. The cabin is clean, it has a great open floor plan, and the bed is super comfortable. The best feature of the property is the back porch. The view of the river is lovely and we spent hours watching the ducks, kingfishers, and hawks. Our dogs were in heaven, too!"

"This house was one of those old spacious houses that make you want to go buy one tomorrow. I especially enjoyed the dinning room and the living room. It was incredibly peaceful watching the fire crackle while the new year came in and than in the morning watching my kids eat breakfast with the snowfall as a back drop in the bay window. We have no complaints although anyone wanting to experience this house do take the property managers warning on no local grocery stores. We did but we thought...

"We visit the Dolly Sods area often, and this is our first stay at this property. It was a great property—a very private location with plenty of space inside and to walk around outside. We saw more wildlife at the house than we did hiking up in Dolly Sods. The house was great. I have only two things I would say would be nice as improvements. One is some more small/medium pots and pans. There are a couple, but their non-stick is gone, and I couldn't find a regular-size spatula that someone hadn't...

"We very much enjoyed our stay which was booked for the Mountain State Forest Festival. It’s just a short drive to Elkins, so the house was conveniently located and the hosts provide a fully stocked kitchen, linens, and even a few games to play. Host was very accommodating. If you aren’t accustomed to sleeping on a bamboo pillow, you might consider bringing your own. This was a wonderful place stay - highly recommended! "
