"The aircon is controlled by the staff and only on 7pm-9am and on my first night it was set at 27oC so might as well not existed (it was 26 outside)! The bed was hard and the bathrooms multisex and shared with the cafe downstairs. Overall there’s better hostels for the same or less in Phuket Old Town."

"Travelled from Canada solo. Age 45. Mad Monkey was fantastic. Chill upbeat vibes during the day. From around 6:30pm-11:30pm was fun party vibes. Quiet times from Midnight to Noon"ish". Easy 5 min walk to patong beach and 10 min walk to crazy Bangla road nightlife. Anything you could want or need is everywhere around you at all times. Very social atmosphere with awesome staff. "It was a decent stay but I wasn't a fan of the cleanliness of the place. Inside my cubby wasn't the cleanest as there was some stuff on the walls and it made me feel grossed out and the moldy wet smell wasn't my favorite either. Also, the beds were hard and not all that comfy. Other than that it was in a very convenient area and liked that I was able to quickly get some food or do laundry without hastle."

"Wanted a cheap stay as I flew in late night from the US and was leaving the next morning for Krabi. This hostel was fine for what it was. The room was clean and the staff were friendly. The shower was fine. The mattress was too firm, almost hard. The location doesn't have much around except a few random restaurants and such. They have some chairs in front and I noticed people sitting around but didn't appear to social. ANyway, it was fine for what it was but I wouldn't go out of my way to stay...

"We stayed at the property in July 2019 for the first night of a 9 day trip to Phuket. We were expecting to move into another accommodation, but our kids liked being at Nonnee so much, we stayed almost our entire time in the area at the property. It was low season- and we had the property much to ourselves, but it was great. It's a short motorbike to Kata, Kata Noi or Karon beaches & the Kata Night Market. "A wonderful good value place to stay in Phuket. The owner was so flexible and helpful when we had to make last minute changes to our itinerary due to cancelled flights, and it was so easy to make ferry bookings to visit the islands through them. They have WiFi, are centrally located right in downtown, and the rooms were clean and comfy. I would definitely stay here again!"

"The hostel has good location (3 minutes from the beach). The place was clean. However, the breakfast was really weak (butter, jam and white toast bread) no fruits at all. Tea/coffee/cacao is free of charge full day but there was no possibility to refill the water. I think the price was too high but depends what you are looking for. "
