"The area Hammamhane is located in a very nice area of Beyoglu, and is located close to vintage shops, potters, art galleries and eateries. Very nice area if you’re not just looking for the historical Istanbul. Places like the Galata tower are within walking distance, and a tram station is also within walking distance. "In a very quiet location but within a few minutes walk to all the joys of Taksim Square and surrounds. Although we could not talk fluently with the staff we managed to convey our wishes and they were excellent hosts. Not a five star establishment but well worth a visit if on a budget. "The staff claimed that this a fake account and did not honour the reservation. As a compromise they offered a room at a price twice higher than the one in the original hotels.com booking. This all happened at midnight, so we contacted the helpline of hotels.com and were assisted with booking a room in another hotel. "The owners were incredibly friendly, they gave us free water and coffee. The apartment is very good, especially the one with a balcony on the top floor is amazing. Bed and bathroom were both comfy and there's plenty of space and equipment for 3 people. It's not a problem to leave baggage if arriving earlier than check in or when checking out, and access is easy to marmaray metro line. Would definitely stay again if I visit the area."

The staff were exceptionally friendly and went out of their way to meet my needs, particularly Kan, with whom I had several pleasant interactions. "ive stayed here many times because its a very good price for central istanbul- it is quite basic but it has character, it is in the tarlabasi a very old district of istanbul, a bit ramshackle- which i like, but safe,. there are friendly reception staff, close to istiklal caddesi with its many restaurants and shops. its on a very steep street so not great for people with mobility problems, it is also close to the famous sunday market, comfortable bed, i slept well"
