Its a charming hotel famous hotel. Take extra effort to book spa , the receptionist has limited ability yo speak English. Dining staff are mostly nice except the younger ones (maybe they are new) are Front desk staff are nice, except the tea room area( the female one is super rude).

Most of the more modern hotels are located 40 minutes to one hour from the airport. This hotel is one of them in a very popular area with plenty of restaurant and entertainment options within blocks of the hotel. It also has a very elegant hotel bar frequented by literary icons of days past with luxurious seating and elegant furnishings. I enjoyed a very lovely old fashioned there, though prices are a bit steep given the area and local economy. I noticed my credit card was charged and refunded several times for this transaction, so that was a bit annoying. The room was nice with a comfortable bed and rainfall shower with plenty of warm water. Overall a nice stay.

Wonderful, beautiful historic hotel with modern conveniences. Breakfast buffet was excellent. Location is super for walking about and exploring trendy bars, cafes and antiques shops near by. Good access to public tram for getting into the old city area around the bazaar and Hagia Sofia etc. room with view of the golden horn is worth it / stunning sunsets and sunrises.

Beautiful, historic hotel makes you feel like you have stepped back in time. Huge room with classic decor. Comfortable beds with fluffy pillows and comforters. Complimentary bottled water in room and they deliver a tray of assorted pastries later on. Friendly and helpful staff. Extensive and tasty breakfast and afternoon tea buffets. Beautiful tea room. Outdoor restaurant for lunch and dinner with decent food. Steps away from lots of shops and restaurants. No convenient public transportation, so must take a 15 min taxi or Uber to main tourist attractions in Sultanahmet. Easy to get a taxi/Uber at the hotel, but impossible to get an Uber back and taxis charge an inflated flat rate.

Overall customer service is terrible. It is not a welcoming hotel. Staff is just there. Upon arrival we were given our keys, nothing explained about property or amenities as usual during a check-in. We had to figure everything on our own. Forget about “vip” access, they completely lack at customer service. The breakfast has an amazing selection but again lacks service. Would never stay at this hotel again nor recommend. It was truly not the experience we were looking forward to. Unfortunate end to our trip.

This is a historical property with older/traditional design. The mattress is worn down. The location is central and great for walking and many good restaurant options.
