"Beautiful place i love"

"I can't say enough good things about our stay here! The room was absolutely beautiful. The attention to detail was first rate. The bed was comfortable, the mini fridge had water and snacks. The room was cleaned each day. The breakfast was great, including eggs, fruit, cornettas and breads. There was a beautiful panoramic viewing area from the roof of the breakfast room. Piera and Mimo were available for any questions. We were in a quiet area but with great access to the main street and town square. I highly, highly recommend this property and would stay here again and again! Thank you so much for a wonderful time!"

"Matera is a very special place. It is difficult to find another city in the world with a landscape like this. Staying in the Sassi, the old cave houses, is something you really should do to enjoy the full experience. I stayed at San Giorgio Hotel, and it was exactly what I hoped for. It was a special experience, something I will always remember. I really recommend it to anyone who wants to try this kind of stay. The staff were very friendly, the atmosphere felt real and traditional, and the room was big and comfortable. Everything made me feel like I was living a dream."

"Great location and cave room was brilliant"

"This hotel is one in a million. The teams on the front desk and in the restaurant were just so very professional and welcoming. The breakfast was really delicious, and catered for every different need. We had a lovely room, the pillows were a little hard but the bed was very comfortable. The lighting was ambient and really showed off the uniqueness of the room. In the suite there was no separate place to sit (as would be usual in a suite) so this was disappointing, so when it was warm enough we sat outside which was lovely to watch the beautiful swifts, house martins & swallows busy at work! Be careful of the steps up and down the property, particularly in your room if you are in a suite. It can catch you out if you are half asleep getting to the bathroom. We loved our time in the Spa too, we visited twice. The facilities were everything we needed, we didn't need more although the team there were not as forthcoming and friendly as the teams in the rest of the hotel. The massages we had were very good though. This was by far the best hotel we stayed at during our trip. Matera is wonderful and magical. Staying in this hotel really helped us feel more 'in the zone' and we loved Vito, always there to help when we needed and the reception team were also GREAT! Thank you xx"

"This is an INCREDIBLE hotel...from the initial communication, arranging our ground transportation, being met by Jennifer and given a history of Matera to the stunningly beautiful cave we slept in, this was a perfect place. The breakfast was beautiful and delicious. The setting of Matera is stunning. My only regret is that we only had one night there. I am already trying to plan a return trip."
