The MAUNA LOA SHORES is right on the ocean in HILO; an exceptional town with plenty to do here on the east side of our beautiful island. The Beach Park next door where you can swim with sea turtles is a once in a life experience. My 45 years as a resident and 42 years as a Realtor here will insure you know where to go and what to do to make it the perfect stay.

Beautifully decorated and furnished, Finest in the Mauna Loa Shores..Best view of the Carlsmith Beach Park next door. Your bed overlooks the waves. The ultimate place for your Hilo stay. Mauna Loa Shores is ECO friendly solar powered electric!!!! You will absolutely love the condo, the amenities, the views, our Hilo town. Our piece of paradise awaits your stay. 1brm 1bth with queen size bed in brm. plus sofa sleeper in living room for 3rd guest. Full Kitchen, wifi, this condo has it all. EVEN smart TV with Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, etc. BUT the ultimate feature is Carlsmith Beach Park right next door is the best for swimming and snorkeling. Almost always sea turtles. EZ access to ocean, protected reef. Beautiful lawn with huge trees, Tide pools. Truly one of the finer spots on any of the Islands.

Hilo Town is a very special place. Not touristy like Honolulu, Maui and such, a real old Hawaii charm. Right now lava is flowing into the ocean, a sight to behold. Lava tours can be had. You will come back again and again.

Starting Jan 1, 2022 our County has added an additional 3% tax due to the rising costs associated with keeping our County functioning properly.  As you know, this has been a stressful fee year for our County due to the lost revenue from the Volcano and now the Pandemic, so our County needs this to survive and provide needed services.  Our contract states that the tax is based in the taxes when your visit actually comes, so if you are arriving after Jan 1,  We are adding this additional 3% on your rent.  Mahalo for your understanding.

The apartment was decently equipped—plenty of kitchen stuff for light cooking, plenty of towels, boogie boards etc, very comfortable and incredible views of the sea. Easy access to swimming with turtles.

Lagoon gorgeous
I’m glad that the lagoon is public. It does get pretty busy on sunny weekends. Nearby botanical gardens are much cooler than Kīlauea.

Charming Hilo
We enjoyed Hilo because it had more character and history and less of a resort feel. The condo met our needs perfectly as a couple. It was spotless, quiet, and well stocked. Proximity to Carlsmith Beach was as a bonus, and we loved the night sounds of the distant surf and night birds. There is much to do, and the property manager gave us great suggestions for excursions and dining though we dined in all but one night due to the incredible, daily farmer’s market. The weather in Hilo in December was incredible with five rainless days and no need for air conditioning.

The place was clean & check in was easy. You have to drive through an industrial neighborhood in order to get to the condo which isnt that nice. But, once you are there the beach and condonis very nice

A great location, house was comfortable. Loved the park just outside the back door! Property Manager was excellent to work with, and had great ideas of things to see and do while there. Would definitely stay there again.

We didn't even stay in the unit disgusting
The photos are misleading . There is no close walk to the Rocky water you have to walk on the road to get there.The building was disgusting and pool was not even able to swim in full of mold . The manager of the building was an absolute mess. I paid for 5 days and had to rent through a new local spot . I would not recommend this to anyone. The owner and manager will not refund when you see the facility so don't risk it .

This is a great place to stay! Walking distance to the beach! Beautiful View from the bedroom and lanai! Comfortable bed! Everything that you could need for cooking, snorkeling, and just enjoying your stay without having to drive anywhere if you don't want to! I would definitely stay here again!

Great stay!
This is the perfect home base for a few days of exploring the Hilo area. The apartment is comfortable, clean, nicely appointed. All the basics and more are provided. Terry gave good information, replied promptly to my queries. We would definitely stay here again next time we’re in Hilo.

The view!
This vacation rental is a gem. It was clean, well stocked and possibly the best view on the island. Our favorite thing to do was walk next door to Carlsmith Beach Park and hang out in the water. We saw sea turtles there several times. If I ever go back to the big island I would want to stay here again.

Great Little Hilo Condo!
This place is conviently located in South Hilo- close to parks, resturants, and the Volcano! Although the building could use some work, the unit is nicely decorated and appointed with all the conviences you need for a Hawaii vacation. I would hightly recommend staying here if Hilo is in your plans.

A perfect location
We really enjoyed our stay at Mauna Loa Shores. We loved being able to walk outside and swim and snorkel. Hilo restaurants, shops, and the farmers market are minutes away. The condo isn’t huge, but it fit three people just fine. Very clean and well stocked.

Wow the pictures don’t lie. Right in the cove, fishes turtles and swimming out the back door. Trails to another cove as well. Perfect location, the condo was clean, organized and had everything we could want to adventure around. Coming back!

Great Stay!
We really enjoyed our stay in Hilo. It's very laid back and close to major tourist sites (volcanos, Mauna Kea, Akaka Falls, Big Island Candies, etc.) The condo was a perfect location. We enjoyed swimming in the the Carlsmith pools and jogging in the area every day. The condo was well stocked, but not cluttered. We appreciated that it had plenty of room for our items and was very clean.

lovely property and view
This is an attractive, up-to-date condo with an open floor plan, comfortable bed and lovely water view from the main room, bedroom and lanai.. Terry, the property manager is very accessible and responsive. The kitchen and linen closet are well stocked. We snorkeled every day and had a fun, relaxing time.
