It came to my attention as I was looking for a self-catering apartment for a family of four that had parking, within walking distance of Florence’s many sights. This apartment fit the bill, but on top of that I was impressed by the cleanliness of the property; it had good appliances (including a Moka pot and a Nespresso machine, so you have options about morning coffee!). "Well placed, it is clear this used to be a luxurious hotel. Some features point to that. The rest, the details that make a good night sleep, a great shower, are cheap , tacky or simply put in place with their price in mind, not the customer's comfort. First night, we barely slept. The cushions were super hard and they'd covered the bed in two sets of plastic protectors making it the loudest and most uncomfortable mattress. Second night, they changed the pillows and took off the plastic, leaving...

"The apartment was very nice ... however the shower leaked all over floor which attracted ants. They sent someone to fix shower but the silicone did not work and it continued to leak. Also no one came to clean the whole week we were there, when asked we were told it cost extra. Had to ask for clean towels, and toilet paper ran out. And the bed was a bit too hard for my comfort."

"Excellent Italian buffet breakfast. Large groups of organized tours were checking in and out, and taking up elevators and crowded common areas, but for the most part that was not an issue.
