"Casita Tortuga is a charming, classy place for a couple to take in all that the Sea of Cortez has to offer just outside of Los Barriles.It's right on the water -- making it easy to enjoy the jubilant mobula rays, breaching humpback whales, sea birds, sunrise, and stars. It's also a great place from which to snorkel and kayak. For people who enjoy birding, as we do, you will appreciate that the well kept gardens and fruit trees attract a range of non-sea birds too.The hosts are responsive both before and during the stay. Our check in and check out went seamlessly.I really appreciate that the Casita is available for couples looking to rent a private place. Most VRBO homes are appropriate for 4 people, so you end up paying for empty space.We like to cook with fresh local ingredients, and appreciated that the kitchen is well stocked. I'd recommend Casita Tortuga to anyone looking for a special trip to the Gulf of California."

"What a rare privilege to be able to get out under a pitch black starry night, and take a break from wifi and cell phones. This place is well worth spending at least a night at and remembering what life was like before technology ruled us. Beautiful, amazing food, very comfortable cabin and private kitchen next door with rooftop patio. Great value for what you get, kind staff. Highly recommended...to say nothing of the beautiful falls nearby, it's like being transported into a completely different world than Cabo. My only recommendation would be if they could provide lawn chairs so you could star gaze at night. Truly stunning"

"This little casa was my fav vaca rental. The private and outdoor space (upstairs balcony and downstairs courtyard) really expands the useable area creating a much larger feel complete with a small pool and hot tub. Centrally located in the SBV and directly across main dirt road from a small convenience store. The interior/exterior has been intricately designed with lots of detail. The hosts are very responsive and will have any question quickly answered or resolved. Look forward to returning. "

"Nice room, decent wifi and cell phone reception for Baja. Beach access is soso for wind sports, the reason I came. Hot tub was cold. Friendly staff."

"Rancho BV is so wonderful! It is one of the oldest properties in Baja! Staff is so kind and helpful — Arturo is MVP! He always had answers to any questions we had, even helped us secure a car to drive around town (his own!). The property is “tired” but very clean and well kept. The “coffee time” restaurant was super cute and delicious (we only had coffee and breakfast, but saw others dining and it looked wonderful, too). The pool and bar is literally right on the beach, so even if the ocean was too chilly to swim you could still enjoy the beach and ocean view from poolside. Location is perfect — very secluded, but only about a 4-5min drive into Los Barriles. Overall, an excellent spot to visit and relax! Thank you Rancho staff for a wonderful trip! 😊 "

But if you’re looking to relax in a quiet, beautiful setting and enjoy the ocean, great attentive staff, wonderful food, and a beautiful area on the coast of the Sea of Cortez, you won’t be disappointed. Personable, fun staff go above and beyond to take care of you and make sure you’re comfortable. You’ll feel like family during your stay and will be sad to say goodbye! 5 stars!
