"Rooms clean and comfortable. A little attention to detail,by the management will make the good. Management forgot to send food from Gabs so staff had nothing to srve in restaurant. Staff need to be empowered to sort out basics like this. You will note by now, that staff try but failure lies at the owners door. Swimming is dry as water gets pumped for miles to the area. Make pool smaller and it might be feasible to fill. The overall place needs maintenance and care as its a bit run down. "

"I absolutely loved staying at the River View Lodge. The staff is amazing and SO helpful. The lodge itself is small but very lovely - right on the river,with a nice outdoor lounge area and small pool. The food was great and so much better than I expected for a place its size. Aside from the awesome staff, the best part are the activities offered. On the morning game drive we saw lions, leopards, zebras, and much more. "Lovely place, with beautiful reception area, you see that it has been grand. However you also see that the hotel overall is old and in need of renovation. the pool needed cleaning (but that was general for all our stays in Botswana) and the bar at the pool was closed in the afternoon!! They was 2 girls but the answer was closed!! Luckily a young man came by and he accommodated us (we saw that he walked to the other bar to get our orders) We had a massage all 3 and it was really good."

"The garden surrounds and leafy setting around the accommodation were lovely. The soft furnishings in the restaurant areas were tired and a bit grubby. Dinner and breakfast was uninspiring with ordinary presentation. We found a restaurant in town that served much better food. We stayed in a glamping tent, which was fine. Suggest that the tents need a mirror in the bathroom and a bedside table. Towel racks or hooks in the bathroom would have enabled towels to dry. Staff were attentive and...

"Spotlessly clean 1 bedroom cabin set in immaculate grounds. Good WiFi/AC and cable tv. Dinner and breakfast were also very good. You can choose to self cater in your cabin. The kitchen is well stocked with utensils, pots and pans. Nice clean fridge and stove."

"It was a great experience. Super great location, the service was phenomenal and I really felt like I was among great friends. The best sunset is from the pool deck...at night we were visited by herds of elephants and hippo and it is just magical to watch them so close. The food....oh the food....it was incredible! I super recommend this beautiful lodge if you are visiting Chobe"

"Absolutely fabulous! What more could you ask for? Über friendly staff, excellent meals, food on request, and stunning rooms with a view from a hilltop. Lindi and Antony were particularly awesome. It is 7-8 chalets and a few campsites large. Advice for future travelers, turn off the tar road at the "Xhabe Safari 2km" sign at top of the hill and do not rely on the GPS. "

"Very nice hotel. We stayed three nights on a cross Africa motorcycle trip. Room was awesome and comfortable. Good was very good at the restaurant and we were always greeted with a smile. "

"Wow! Fantastic stay, superior staff, super friendly, and absolutely peaceful. The lodge is small, about 8 units, in the middle of a reserve with tranquility. The food was absolutely amazing. Animals on site and inspiring. Make a call to be let in the gate when you arrive."

La chambre était OK mais pas la salle de bain : le lavabo était rempli de poussière, la douche s'évacuait très lentement et la chasse fuyait... Ils avaient proposé de nous préparer un diner mais une fois sur place, on a appris qu'ils n'avaient rien prévu Par contre, le petit déjeuner était très bien"

Short stop at the end of a longer trip

"Comfortable one-night stay. The room was well furnished and in decent condition, though the AC was a bit tricky. Bathroom was very modern. The hotel has a nice decor,but some areas are showing signs of age. The pool area is nice and large, but could have been a but cleaner and needs new or more modern loungers and seating options. The food menu at the bar was limited, and the food was ok - not the best we had in Botswana, but not bad either. There was a DJ by the pool that was very loud (as seems to be typical in Botswana) but this finished at around 22:00 so did not disturb our sleep. There is no lift, but the staff did help by bringing our luggage up to our 1st floor room."
