"Rooms were very clean and adequate. Rooms warm during a cold January stay. Cooked breakfast was great. Hostess Caroline was a delight. Flat 10 minute walk to city gate (see photo). So no need to park closer unless you have a walking disability. Very desirable location. The only thing that would have made it better was to let customers know in advance that parking is £12.50 @ night. No nearby free parking in sight. Don’t hesitate to stay here. "

"Would definitely recommend and stay again. Plenty of parking, decent sized rooms with everything we needed. Restocked every day (tea, coffee, toiletries), which was very nice. Excellent breakfast, plenty of choice, freshly cooked to our timeslot. Hosts remembered what we asked for and we could change bits if we wanted. Room had everything we needed. "The single room was comfortable, clean and pleasant. It had tea making facilities, a hair drier and iron. The en suite was of a good size and private. The only draw back was the shower - it had little water pressure and the shower hose was a poor fit. I had a key to a separate entrance which gave me freedom to avoid the bar and flexibility to come and go."

"The hotel is well located. I stayed in the annexe room at the rear of the building accessed through a small yard at the back. Recently decorated the room was clean, warm and surprisingly quiet. Bed was very comfortable, and a very spacious bathroom with nice thick towels. My only criticism would be that there is a strong smell of new carpet in the bedroom "
