"It was an intriguing building. Rooms well furnished and heated. The staff were very helpful and friendly. BUT not a suitable place for elderly or those with mobility problems. An outside flight of stairs, which could be slippery in wet weather, led to first floor and then more internal steep stairs our room. There were no grab rails in the shower. Food was well prepared especially the breakfast but menu in evening was limited and in spite of signs there was no real ale. A further problem which...

"It was truly a pleasure to stay at England’s oldest inn. We loved our room, the history and the restaurant. We brought our dog as well, and it was just such a lovely weekend. Can’t wait to come back. "

"The room was lovely, warmnand comfortabe. I stayed for 3 nights, each night inreturned it had been cleaned, newbtea / coffee etc. The food downstairs was really nice. The only downside - BOOK IT DIRECTLY WITH THEM NOT ON 3RD PARTY SITE. If booked direct it includes belreakfast if younbook via any other website breakfast is not included"

"Generally good but the loud humming was irritating and may affect all rooms? Air conditioning for a ground floor Beer Keg store? fortunately ended 10pm in Winter but wondering re Summer or even Spring or Autumn. Wasn't impressed by heavy small metal teapots half filled and awful potato fritters and streaky bacon in full English."

"Stayed here before so we hopefully knew what to expect. Lovely room with a great comfy bed and facilities, shower and en-suite all working well and very clean. Short walk into town, bar and restaurant are excellent, will be back next year."

"Fantastic place to stay. We had two suites for relatives who were visiting Cheltenham. Both suites were spotlessly clean and beautifully appointed. Milk and juice in the fridge was a really nice touch. Plenty of towels with robes and slippers too. The team I spoke to were all really helpful. Can thoroughly recommend this place. "

"The location of the property was perfect to visit other areas of the Cotswolds. The property was quiet and had everything you needed to make it feel like home. The beds were so comfortable and have never slept so well. It was peaceful and relaxing and was lovely to hear the church bells even through the night. The location was ideal to explore and walk around the village and countryside. Would stay here again and highly recommend."
