"Very helpful, friendly and accommodating staff, food good, large portions, quite expensive (would be very good but let down by pizza) Good base for touring Hadrian's Wall, would definitely stay again. Amenities marked down due to limited parking, okay at this time of year but come peak season must be a bit of a 'mare. "

"My two night stay gave me a very comfortable room, with a well equipped ensuite bathroom. Breakfast was self service, with hot food being ordered at the bar. Staff were very attentive during my stay and I would definitely recommend staying here."

"Great food, excellent staff. Fiona is an awesome manager. Nice big room, very accommodating - they made me a terrific bag lunch for my walk on Hadrian's Wall. I would recommend them very highly. "

"Great location , stunning views , friendly place , nice food Room 3 , did not spoil trip but mattresses felt a bit basic and oddly whilst hot water to basin taps , could not get the shower hot . So evening and morning tepid quick shower . Maybe my error or problem with shower "

"Really good home cooked food at a good price too but hotel side of the pub was a little expensive considering breakfast wasnt included but it was comfortable and clean and nice for me personally to have memory foam pillows instead of feather filled ones. "

"A one night stop over, small room which we knew we had booked. A bit of a problem with the T V which was sorted, using the i Player. Couldn't fault the staff, a very pleasant stay and we would go back there again. "
