"Lovely room. We were in Thyme. Small but very comfortable for a couple of nights. Very handy for Beamish museum. Fabulous food in restaurant both evenings and breakfast in the conservatory was also excellent. Lovely beer garden with the most amazing hanging baskets I have ever seen. Little shed areas with heaters made it great to chill after dinner. All staff encountered were great. "I think its my 3rd visit to the Windmill The floorboards are creaky, the phone signal is really awful. (But that does have a positive, no disturbances) Its a lovely little place to stay! The staff are fantastic. It's spotlessly clean. The restaurant is great, too much choice and very, very tasty. Although it's right on the A19 its peacefully quiet. A cracking little place that's quirky and does exactly what is says on the tin. Cheap n cheerful 😊 "

"We finally got to The Holly Hill Inn, due to the weather (snow) we were contacted a couple of times by the staff, warning us about the weather, which was nice. When we arrived the staff were so friendly and helpful and we arranged to have food in the restaurant, which was first class, and the breakfast in the morning was just as nice,, so highly recommended this place…. "Our room was beautiful. It had a king size bed and the en-suite bathroom was a good size. The only downside was that the toilet flush handle was broken but still worked. It could have done with better lighting in the bathroom as you couldn’t see in the mirror very well. The room was immaculately clean and had a sofa and tv with easy to connect to WiFi. Personally I struggled with comfort of the bed as I found it too soft but it was dressed with clean sheets and had extra pillows in the wardrobe....

"The lodge was perfect. Spotlessly clean and pretty and everything you could need. However what made our holiday absolutely perfect was the garden the lodge is set in. Stunningly beautiful, magical grounds that you could see from all sides of the lodge. With a folly perfect for an outdoor fire and BBQ. Central to all of the North East and Durham attractions. I have been twice now and can’t wait to go again. Magical!"

"All in all nice little cottage for a couple and good as was pet friendly to go up Durham to visit our son up uni and take our dog to see him too. Cottage was nice a little place although i think the tv was slightly too high on wall. As we arrived there were 3 plumbing vans parked outside so had to park out side another cottage for bout hour n half till they moved their vans after going in pub at front of cottages before parking own car then outside our own cottage.
