"My friend and I stayed with you 2 years ago. The staff are always very helpful and friendly. The hotel is clean. We had a twin room with lovely bedding and very comfortable beds, although the neds did squeak when getting on and off of them. It would be useful to have another hook in the shower room to hang the wet towels. One is fine for one towel, but not two. Breakfast was good, especially the sourdough bread."

"We had a lovely stay, the staff were friendly and it was so quiet. There is parking, a coffee machine available 24/7 and fresh croissants in the morning. The only issue I had was that the mattress was so hard it was like sleeping on concrete so I didn’t get very much sleep but the firmness of mattresses is a personal preference. "

"The bed was a bit too soft and a double is not quite big enough for two large people. We both rolled into the middle and woke up sore. Otherwise it was ok."

"Rooms are very small and the pillows we had were lumpy. The staff were amazing and the breakfast was really good! Walking distance to town center. Back of hotel looks out to Dock Turpin’s grave which was a loud late night hang out for people drinking - lots of litter. "

"We were actually surprised that we had such a nice stay after reading the reviews. You get what you pay for at the end of the day and we paid £40 for a twin room. It was clean and comfortable we got a lovely sea view and the shower was great. The only problem was the check in we waited about an hour in the queue as they required photo id and a lot of the guests checking in were unaware of it so it held everybody up, thankfully we had ours. We would definitely stay here again. "

"Very comfortable and cosy. Restaurant had excellent food and service was good. Set meal was reasonably priced. Google cast facility on the room TV meant I was able to watch Netflix via my phone. Room was in a separate block from the reception etc but this did not detract. This was my first stay in the Hotel du Vin chain and won't be my last."
