"We had a great stay. I wasn’t sure what to expect from Hotel Playa Bejuco - I was a little worried it would feel like a touristy budget beach hotel. It actually feels more like a rustic lodge than a giant, modern hotel. In a good way! There are ~20 rooms total and they all surround a central courtyard with a pool. We were traveling in a group of 6 (our family 2 grandparents). We booked two family rooms - 2 queen beds & private bathroom each. The hotel was very helpful in accommodating our request for one room on the ground floor. The rooms are very spacious and clean, and the beds are clean and comfortable. There is AC in each room and you can adjust. There are also working fridges and a safe (no microwave). The bathroom was clean and functional, but if you are traveling with someone with physical accessibility needs, note that the tub/shower may be difficult to access. The tubs in our rooms were built in (vs free-standing) and it is an especially high step to get in. There is a grab-bar but still may pose a challenge. The hotel staff was wonderful, especially Daniel at the front desk who was friendly and knowledgeable. He helped us arrange a to-go box of fruit for the mornings we were leaving before 7am (when breakfast opens). Note the hotel’s restaurant is closed on Mon. so breakfast may not be offered that day. The location is incredible - literally steps from an amazing beach. If you have activities in Quepos or Manuel Antonio, it is a ~45-60 minute drive each way."

"FALSE ADVERTISING. Not one minute walk from the beach. You cannot even see the beach until you walk 20 minutes. Two bikes barely work and forget the golf cart for 500 dollars that you can’t use on the sand near the beach. You leave a bike or anything unattended and it will be stolen. The restaurants and food market up the road is priced higher than any place in Palm Beach Florida. I was lied to by VRBO and the host. Don’t believe anything you read and believe me I researched in every way possible. I even straight up asked the host if I can see the beach from my location and was told a flat out lie that I could. We were moved to another VRBO property because of the proven lie that were stated to me. The second VRBO property was smaller but I was on the beach so I had no other option due to me being a disabled Firefighter and I needed to be able to watch my son surf. Nice place but I had to sleep on the floor because I was trying to salvage the trip due to the lies about the first property. After three days this Property Flooded not from the beach but from rain coming into the roof. The second and third floors were flooded and my medication was floating in my suitcase and all my daughters clothes were wet and bathroom stuff was ruined. After call the host to help me get my family out of this hazardous house which later I was told it has done this before, great you knew you were putting us in a electrical hazard house where water is flying off the ceiling fans and our food was w"

"We stayed in Bejuco for 5 weeks in February 2024. The location is great. It is a quick walk down to the beach for sunrises and sunsets, often seeing monkeys, macaws, and sloths. The beach is quiet and beautiful for walking or playing in the waves. The community is very friendly and the guys on the gate were wonderful. We felt very safe. The air conditioning was perfect. Kaylor, our host was exceptional, checking in on us regularly and taking care of our one issue with the air conditioning immediately. He couldn't have been better. The weather was extremely hot during our time and me made good use of the beautifully shaded community pool to cool us off. We did most of our shopping nearby in Parrita a 15 minute drive away. There is a smaller grocery store that has most everything that is a 10 minute walk. We also went into Jaco a few times, a 30 minute drive. This place is close to Manuel Antonio National Park, a 30 minute drive. The accomodations were clean, spacious, and very comfortable for two couples. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here."
