"My partner and I came to visit Alnwick for her birthday, and after a previous stay at a Premier Inn, we decided we wanted something with more character. The Hog’s Head Inn is a really lovely hotel, and considering it broke ground in 2011, has a feeling of being built in the 1800s, with the wood and stone decor in the main bar area. "Lovely clean room with everything you need. Nice big shower. Radiator boiling hot all night, so even with the windows wide open, had a terrible sleep. Breakfast was great, lots of choice. Horrible smell of sewers in the car park. "

"Stayed at the corner house as my daughter was back in hospital having heart surgery and i just want to say a massive thank you to Gemma who checked me in, your empathy and kindness truely shown during this awful time for me and my family. Honestly made a traumatic time less stressful and i can not thank you enough, wish more people were as kind and considerate as you, you are a credit to the corner house! The double room was also very clean and comfortable and the breakfasts were delicious too....

"The property is certainly quirky, and not quite what we expected, but not in a bad way, just different. Food was excellent, and the portions are ginormous. staff are all lovely, and wonderful to talk to. Absolutely love the local accent, could listen for hours. No complaints at all."

"Really enjoyed my time here, mostly peaceful, food good and left alone as needed privacy. Lovely pub and surroundings. Only gripes would be loud music until 2.00am in the morning one of nights I was there, but I guess this comes with staying in a pub. Also nasty smell in shower/toilet room, Maybe a problem with water pipes. Sort of like a dirty drain smell. Shame as the rest of my experience was great."

"Great choice for an Autumn stay. Warm, comfortable,friendly and hospitable. Great bar, resteraunt choices and breakfast options. No need to go out when you can relax here. Close to A1, yet country quiet on the riverside. "

"Enjoyed a pleasant short stay here as a family. Service in the pub/restaurant/breakfast was prompt and friendly and food was good quality and value. Our room was unexpectedly warm for the time of year, despite radiators being turned-down but there was already a good fan in the room to counter this. We had no issues with noise despite being above the pub. "

"Apartment was lovely was a few chips and stains but to be expected for the price! Lovely receptionist very helpful. Parking easy and accessible. "

"Overall, very good. Staff were friendly and the room was comfortable. A couple of details would improve it - more hooks for clothes during a longer stay, and a waste bin under the desk would be appreciated. I would stay at Roomzzz Newcastle again."

"Great apartment in great house. Everything was comfortable and clean. It had a little kitchenette which we didn't use but it would have been useful for a longer stay. I have marked you down 1 star on Communications as I could find the information regarding check out time on the last day and it was hard to find it online, it said 11am in one place and 12 noon another. I had to go to the Holiday Inn checkout next door and ask them in person. "
