Need to get away from the “noise” of your everyday life? Sanctuary provides the space and serenity to think, dream, pray and……listen.

Sleep in late, take a stroll around the property, sip wine by the fire pit and listen to the tree frogs. Even if you want to stay in your pajama’s your entire stay, we’ve got books, board games and solitude for you.

2. Contemplate and Create with a Certified Coach on Site

Your host at the Sanctuary is a certified Leadership & Life Purpose Coach and is ready to meet you if you desire. Providing a safe, non-judgmental environment, you can engage with Christine to help you think through and process a variety of issues including your calling, life goals, leadership, connecting or re-connecting with God or work issues while taking a brisk walk around the farm or just sitting in the gazebo looking at the ripples on the pond or the majesty of the mountains.

This experience includes two nights lodging, two coaching sessions and contemplative questions so you leave with clarity or a plan to thrive in life. ($200 extra for a two night stay although many guests choose to have their second coaching session once they get back home and have a chance to do some "homework.").

OTHER THINGS TO NOTE: It is important to note that the Sanctuary is a place to unwind and unplug. We hope it's an opportunity to slow down, enjoy nature, and dream big. For that reason, we do not have wifi. Guests are welcome to use their own mobile hot spot, or if an emergency or need arises, guests can contact us about using a temporary hot spot.

The Sanctuary is also a working farm, so don't be alarmed if you hear the cows mooing or the sounds of a tractor or four wheeler.

Great Escape
Nice location to the Blue Ridge Parkway. The view of Peaks of the Otter was beautiful. The owners are friendly and attentive to any needs you might have. The Sanctuary was well appointed and was a great respite.

The majesty of the Sanctuary
We were very pleased with the property. Very clean and comfortable. The view from the property was beautiful and we enjoyed the evenings sitting in the Gazebo and watching the sunsets. The hosts were very friendly.

This little piece of heaven was a perfect get away!!
This little place is perfect to just get away, take a deep breath and remember how to relax. We loved taking in all the beautiful views on this farm and the fall colors and sky were beautiful.

Being forced to step away from all electronics my husband and I got to relax and have an amazing time in front of the beautiful mountains and under the amazing view of the stars. Fabulous getaway!
Santuary is aptly named. This lovely cottage in the mountains was the perfect spot to unwind. The decor was lovely, the bed was comfy, the shower just right and the views were spectacular. The host was equally wonderful so this was a fabulous getaway for me and my husband!

We had a refreshing stay at this lovely farmhouse. Everything was just as listed. The view of the mountains was breathtaking, and we just wanted to sit in that gazebo all day!! So quiet and peaceful. The decorating of apt were so cozy and added to the charm. Very welcoming.

Great farm style space for 3. Loved the view and sitting at the Gazebo. 35 mins to Lynchburg. Closer to peaks of otter for hiking! The host was there to greet us. She even grabbed us extra chairs to offer a friend who came for a short visit before heading to town. Very lovely stay!

We thoroughly enjoyed the gorgeous view of the mountains from this cozy suite. The home is decorated beautifully with attention to detail. We appreciated the personalized welcome sign, fresh roses, chocolate and coffee. The peace and quiet at night assures a restful sleep and you feel the tranquility the moment you step on the property. A heavenly peaceful retreat with the beauty of nature
It was really out of the way of the hustle and bustle of busyness but was so very refreshing. Truly is a Sanctuary
This property truly is a slice of heaven - appropriately named Sanctuary. The views, the wildlife, and our hosts were nothing less than wonderful. Our accommodations were spotless, extremely comfortable and so cutely decorated. We had everything we needed to make us feel at home. We appreciated the intentionality of our hosts encouraging guests to disconnect and breathe in the beauty of nature and peace. We will 100% be a returning guest!

This was a return visit and we're so glad we came back! The peace, tranquility and beauty of Sanctuary lives on. Christine and Jason are wonderful hosts. We did a little hiking and walking in the Blue Ridge and got to know the town of Bedford which was just ok. The D-Day Memorial was excellent. Make sure you get connected to one of their free tours.

“Sanctuary”. The perfect name for this little haven of rest and peace. This cozy farmhouse cottage is nestled in the midst of gentle Virginia mountains on rolling acres of beautiful-ness. So many favorite moments… the early mornings sitting outside to watch as birds and deer began to stir with the sun rising, hiking a trail at Peaks of Otter on the Blue Ridge Parkway, building a campfire out behind the house near the lake, and picking apples in a nearby orchard. A lovely lovely space overall!

This small farmhouse suite is perfect for a relaxing weekend getaway. Me and my boyfriend love going to small towns to unwind, get away, and see places that are unheard of. This place was beyond our expectations. We had a big day on Friday and didn’t get to check in until 8pm but I’m so happy we did because waking up to the view was breathtaking. It’s an active farm so we got to see the cow and kittens that roam the grounds. You don’t have much service and there isn’t Wi-Fi but it’s nice to not be attached to the phone and just be together. If you’re looking for a place to unwind and be together this place is perfect for you! I hope you guys will enjoy it as much as we did (:

A peaceful retreat - will return again!
The beauty and solitude of Sanctuary was exactly what I needed. Christine and Jason provide a spot of serenity where you can go to unplug from everything and become quiet. I appreciated that there was no television or radio to pull me away from the time needed to be still with God. If you are going and need internet access for devotions or studies you want to do, ask Christine; I was able to connect using my phone for the devotion materials that normally I would have accessed with my laptop. As I came from a distance, I didn't want to pack books when I could access what I needed with my laptop, but my phone worked fine. This is a beautiful farm, with a sweet cat that would come visit with me as I drank coffee on the front porch each morning. She was good about retreating if you aren't a cat person - she's a little love! The gazebo, and patio area where the fire pit is located, are perfect spots for rest, contemplation and study. The views are magnificent, as you can tell from the pictures. This being a farm, there are the creatures of nature - cows, frogs (a lovely serenade in the evening), birds, bugs, deer, turkey, snakes (I didn't see any on my walks), a very fat ground hog. That's what I saw/heard, I'm sure there are others! Bring along some bug spray. I didn't have any with me and didn't have problems - they keep the grass mowed short so chiggers shouldn't be a problem, and I didn't sit outside later into the evening so no issue with mosquitoes. As a farm, the property is on well water. For coffee and drinking water purposes, I picked up a few gallons of water at the local grocery store, at .79/gallon. The well water is perfectly fine to drink, use for cooking, bathing etc., I'm just used to drinking 'city' water. This will not keep me from returning to this marvelous place of rest! I have a family member living in nearby Lynchburg and when I return to visit them, will be staying again at Sanctuary. Thank you to Christine and Jason, for sharing a piece of your heaven on earth with others. You make a difference in the lives of God's people and I'm so very grateful for my time with you!
