"The house was beautiful and clean and in a great location (and smelled great too!). We arrived on Thanksgiving day and were pleasantly surprised to find a decorated Christmas tree lit by the fireplace. The house is a very convenient 10-15 minute drive to Oakland or McHenry. We loved sitting in the hot tub while it was snowing. Our granddaughter enjoyed the arcade game upstairs and was really excited about the bunk bed room. We had a wonderful stay and would love to come back in the warmer...

"Great central location right off busy Garrett Highway. Nice amenities, could even suit 3 distinct groups with sleeping for 14. Walk out lower level directly to the lake, steps away. Nice hot tub, dock and kayaks. Fun game table and some arcade games if children come along. Enjoyable evening by the fire pit with s'mores! Easy to find, easy to book, responsive owners."

"A friend and I rendezvoused in the Canaan Valley in early November to hike in the nearby Dolly Sods and other trails in the area. Garagemahal was exactly as advertised: clean, quiet, spacious (for two people), and conveniently located. The owners/managers (Chip and Laurie), who live across the driveway, were friendly and available to provide information or report problems to (there weren't any), but were otherwise unobtrusive. We will return."

"The house is clean and has the basics. The light by hot tub was out and we reported it. The location of the house is good minus the actual driveway. We had three neighbors. We all got stuck trying to get out of the driveway in the snow. We have a ford f150 and it was still challenging. We almost had to call a tow truck to get over the steep driveway. I wish checkin was easier where you can just use key code to get into house rather than going to the office down the road."

"Our family enjoys DCL every other year for Thanksgiving. This year, we stayed at Magnolia and we were not disappointed. The house was well stocked with every-thing we needed. We loved the different sitting arrangements that afforded all of us a place to escape from the chaos, when necessary. "

"Home was perfect size for me and my husband. Had a wonderful time celebrating our anniversary. The perfect ratio of modern industrial with rustic and antique decor made the home feel so welcoming. "This is a spacious vacation home that offered a good amount of privacy for both the adults and the teens in our party. The kitchen was well stocked as were the bedrooms and bathrooms. The neighborhood is quiet and situated along a large golf course. Access to the lake from the house takes a couple of minutes of walking and view of the lake from the house is limited due to mature trees and other homes. It takes about 10-15 minutes of driving to get to most stores and restaurants."

"Excited for our long weekend trip. The attached kitchen area over the garage had a leaking sink which my girl had parked in there and it leaked through the floor onto her car hood. Had to fix it just tighten up everything on p trap. Pool table had 1 working que stick but it was warped, there was 4 others but no tips on them! The dryer was packed slam full of linens from previous stay I suppose. For the price I would’ve expected better but overall it’s a nice place. Also the driveway is very...

"Our stay was very good- the location was centrally located to the places we wanted to visit - Blackwater Falls, Canaan Valley, the Dolly Sods and the town of Thomas. The fenced yard was perfect for our fur baby - he loved being able to run around. If you go during the week please note a lot of restaurants etc aren’t open certain days or have limited hours - hard to find a breakfast spot or places to have a drink.
