Voyager Rest is ideally located to enjoy the incredible beauty of wild wonderful West Virginia! It is situated on a private 7+ acre lot, within Canaan Valley National Wildlife Refuge - within Old Timberline gated resort community. It offers complete privacy, yet is just minutes from countless outdoor pursuits.

The interior of Voyager Rest is exquisitely finished with antiques and collectables from around the globe. It is truly one of a kind. It includes, a large stone wood-burning fireplace, oak beams, antique hardwood and slate flooring, stone showers, and granite counter-tops fitted with hand-made copper sinks. Two kayaks are available to guests; one at each lake (Please see orientation).

Canaan Valley National Wildlife Refuge was the 500th National Wildlife Refuge (NWR) to be established in the United States. The refuge preserves a moist valley with unique wetlands and uplands at a relatively high elevation in the Allegheny Mountains.

Note guests have access to fishing at (2) lakes within the Old Timberline community <5min from the cabin - no fishing license required within the community.

Wonderful!!
The entire stay was fantastic! Voyagers Rest is a unique and beautiful place full of cozy treasures. It was well equipped with everything we needed to stay comfortably. Kitchen was full stocked with cooking essentials, beds were super comfortable and a soak in the hot tub was an amazing way to end the day! We enjoyed beautiful scenery, adventures hikes and plenty of family time and relaxation! We will definitely be back!!

A Perfect Getaway
Voyager Rest is a beautiful mountain retreat which possesses a timeless charm and a sense of privacy, peace and permanence that we loved. The lodge is filled with fascinating items from Owner Jim’s travels, both antique and simply unique, which fire the imagination and beg to tell their respective stories! We felt a bit like honored guests in a magical museum and we can’t wait to return!

A Cozy Retreat
This place was very relaxing. We enjoyed sitting on the deck and drinking our coffee in the morning. Also, the decor was a constant source of conversation as the house has art and knick knacks from around the world. I especially enjoyed a soak in the hot tub and the very excellent "cave" shower in the master bath. My daughter found a bunch of kid's toys in the room we put her in and the owner was not only okay with her playing with them but happy they were getting used. Overall, the owner was very responsive to my messages.

Beautiful Getaway
My kids and I had the most relaxing and best time at this beautiful property! The house is so private and located in a beautiful neighborhood with spectacular views! It's filled with treasures from all over the world and is very unique. We thoroughly enjoyed hiking many trails, fishing, exploring Davis and Thomas and a day boating on Deep Creek Lake. Would highly recommend! My kids said it was the best vacation ever!

Timberline is a beautiful site for Voyager Rest. Jim built a lovely home decorated with interesting exotic pieces from around the world. You can tell instantly how well the home is maintained. The sunrises are spectacular and the sunsets will take your breath away. We would love to come back.

Awesome!
Amazing cabin with incredibly eclectic decor from the owner’s trips overseas. The cabin is super secluded even though it is within a gated community of cabins and vacation homes. You just don’t see or really even hear anyone else. It is truly like being alone in the woods. We spent the week hiking and canoeing and just relaxing and it was a great stay. Very much looking forward to a return trip.

Voyager Rest is a spectacular way to enjoy Timberline WV. The house is spacious (if you can work with 3 BRs), clean, well-designed, well-equipped (hot tub!), exceptionally well-decorated from the owner's trips to exotic places, and has nice views of the valley below.

This place is a gem. Amazing location, wonderful house with so much character. Everything was perfect. We didn’t wanna leave the house even though we had come in a trip to visit the sights around which there are so many that are so close. Spectacular Long Weekend!
The experience starts with the breathtaking view as you navigate down the driveway to this beautiful, rustic, private cabin nestled in the woods! Upon entering, you are immediately taken on world travels tastefully displayed throughout this clean home! The attention to detail is evident from the beautiful wood floors, to the the fully stocked gourmet kitchen, amazing stone showers, meticulous linens, travel reading material, games and so much more! Watching nature from the deck with coffee in hand and soaking in the hot tub after a long day of hiking were pure bliss! It's apparently the home owner's heart and soul have been poured into this wonderful place and he prides himself in making sure his visitors have the perfect experience! It will leave you wanting more! Don't miss out!

Spectacular home!
This rental home far exceeded any other place I have stayed with VRBO. The home is filled with antiques, varied cultural items from the owner's world travels, well appointed features throughout the home and a restful, peaceful atmosphere throughout. The location is perfect--lots of privacy, beautiful views of both the valley and the mountains and great seating to see wildlife, sunsets and nature. The owner was prompt to answer questions and stay in communication. Overall this home is a 5 star rating and will not disappoint!

Second trip to Voyager’s Rest
