"The property itself is spacious and the room I booked was well appointed; it is close to all the baths and an easy walk from the train station. The staff are extremely friendly and courteous- embodying true Japanese approach interactions.They gave tips for eating out and experiencing Onsen culture. I highly recommend staying here. "We did not opt for the meal package so it’s possible we missed out on an amazing experience there but we did not miss out on the top level experience of the Kitanoya. Full Japanese ryokan room with the most luxurious 2 person open air granite ofuro I have ever seen let alone enjoyed with a delightful garden beyond. We chose this place to unwind from the crowds of Kyoto and we could not have made a better choice. Service was impecable. Can I give it a 6?
