"On the plus size this is a truely unique location and the people that converted this space from a dull 1970s BT building to a cool house should be applauded. It's a perfect getaway location and you're truely isolated (in a good way) but with lots of great walks and places to explore. We really enjoyed all the smuggling past nearby. Things which could be improved - this clearly was a labour of love which needs reinventing. You can feel it's all a bit tired - equipment that no longer functions,...

"We looked with enthusiasm at our holiday. But were terribly let down: (1) car parking was a problem (2) accommodation was basic with no "Visitors Book" to leave comments (3) beds were uncomfortable (4) cooking utensils were sparse. When we normally rent there is always a bottle of wine, a few biscuits or snacks and other bits and pieces to get started. Never Again."

"Great location. Lovely welcoming gifts. Superb log burner in lounge. Lack of hooks in bathroom and an uncomfortable sofa in lounge are the only minors....but that is me being picky."

"My family and I stayed at the French Mill Granary for 3 nights. We really enjoyed it. Our teenage daughter slept in the gypsy caravan which she loved. The garden was fabulous (our dog loved to run and discover various parts) and the swing was a hit. Everyone was very helpful giving us ideas about the places we could visit. We really enjoyed the Isle of Wight and staying at the the Granary which is in a very good location to travel around. Thank you"

"We returned to the cottage after our first stay last year because it was so lovely and comfortable. This time we also used the cottage next door for our grandchildren, who absolutely loved it. The cottage itself is in a great rural location but nevertheless only 10 mins drive from a supermarket and Freshwater Bay if you need a takeaway or food. It's also just a quarter of a mile from a bus-stop to Newport in one direction and Yarmouth in the other (if you don't have a car) so therefore ideal...

"We were very lucky with the weather which helps but we love the area as there is always something to do. The cottage was spotless and has all amenities (apart from washing machine no space ) and there was a very nice cake awaiting us as well as tea ,coffee and milk . Parking was fine on quiet street and the garden is a delight. The owner kindly reminded us about the steep stairs but we managed as we did with downstairs bathroom. Overall highly recommended for a relaxing stay in New Forest."
