"A nice room with a nice patio overlooking the lovely and large garden. Breakfast was nice and they didn't mind that we arrived late. We enjoyed going just next door to the puma rescue center to see many indigenous animals. This place was great for a night after arriving LIR airport before we kept going on our Costa Rica vacation."

"The staff was great. Checkin was a little confusing because I had 2 reservations that I needed to merge. But that got sorted out well. The place is generally clean, but a little dated. There are a number of rooms that are out of service. My understanding is that a new investor started just last year and they are working through modernizing the place. "This is a lovely hotel just outside La Fortuna. A rushing river runs behind the property and the grounds are filled with interesting birds. The room was brand new and the breakfast was good. You pretty much need a car to get to town for dinner or anything else, but the tour companies will come to get you for the various adventures. The only restaurant nearby was Mary's BBQ and we had a bad meal and rude customer service there. Read the reviews before you have anything more than a drink there."
