"We had a lovely weekend at the Pheasant with friends. Our room was really nice, large enough with a massive bathroom (in the main hotel). The food was excellent, some really different items on the menu and breakfast was fresh and quickly delivered. The only reason i have not given 5 stars is they were understaffed. The staff were lovely but really busy. There was no one serving in the bar on the Sunday and tables were not cleaned. I felt sorry as the staff that were there worked really hard and...

"Didnt have my booking on the system, appeared to give me the reserve room that they use for last case scenarios. The stairwell ran diagonally above the bed so every time someone walked up the stairs it boomed through just above your head. Hidden charges for using the gym. Main reception in a different building. "Our experience was amazing. The room was so cosy, clean and warm. A beautiful bath with gorgeous toiletries supplied. The owner and son were so friendly and helpful. "We thought the hosts were really lovely and the location of the guesthouse was ideal for us for walking. There are two pubs within walking distance which serve fantastic food: Coledale inn and Royal Oak. However, we had a downstairs room and seemed to have been really unlucky with the guests upstairs who woke us up every hour during the night. Thankfully, we were only staying a couple of nights as we were absolutely exhausted by the end. Would recommend a stay, just maybe ask for an upstairs...

"Extremely well run and homely B&B just outside Keswick. The breakfast was a particular highlight - especially the a la carte menu. Small things (like tea & coffee in the room with fresh milk, flapjacks in reception and USB charging sockets) make a big difference. I also appreciated the excellent advice provided by the hosts on hiking routes and where to eat in Keswick. I only stayed for one night but will stay longer next time. "
