I've stayed there many times and feel very welcomed every time. The staff are amazing and delightful. Food is good and they show sporting events. Rooms are clean and tidy
Certainly not your cosy-up type pub. Modern characterless pub (in what looked a charming village), filled with people enjoying a rowdy drink and match.
Dont get me wrong, the service from the lady was excellent, but there was absolutely no where to escape the noise.
The bedroom were recently updated, but had zero sound proofing. The noise from the pub was heard until closing time. However once closed ( and the noise from the cooking extracwas turned off), it was surprisingly quiet.
The biggest disappointment ( which would have resulted in a highef score) was the fact the " cooked breakfast " was actually a sandwich from next door 7-11 - ate in the bedroom.

Food great staff great rooms very small shower useless ok for very small people woken up 5.30 people leaving banging doors they vibrate while building
Clean and warm. But the bed- its seen better days. The mattress was very old and soft. You could feel every spring in your back when you moved - and if you cant feel it you heard it! Breakfast was just a voucher for the shop next door to pick up a buttie. Done the job but didn't realise this was the routine when we booked.
Clean & comfortable rooms with everything we needed. Staff were friendly. Our evening meal from the restaurant food (which we took as room service) was good quality, generous portions and reasonably priced. One of the rooms was much smaller than the other, with the double bed right pushed right against the wall - definitely only suitable for single occupancy. Also I had a shower at about 6.30am - lovely hot water. But by 9.30am there was no hot water available for my son to shower! Breakfast came in the form of a voucher to use at a convenience store next door with a hot drinks machine & white baps with choice of filling - adequate but very poor choice for vegetarians. Location of the inn, Gosforth, is beautiful. So despite some small niggles it felt like a good choice of place to stay for a night en route elsewhere.

Adequate, but probably wouldn’t stay again.
Stayed for two nights whilst visiting the local area.
We stayed in room number 2, a small but adequate room.
It was a hot couple of nights so we had to have the window open. The kitchen extractor was located directly outside our window. The extractor fan was on until 10.15pm and made the whole room vibrate. Luckily this was not the case on the second night.
The food wasn’t anything special, massive portions but mine clearly got left under the hot plate for far too long.

It was my partner's birthday, so plan was to head out early walking. On arrival we got voucher for local shop to pick up breakfast (7-10am), which was a surprise as we booked b&b. Shop was closed... So no breakfast... Pitty there is no information that breakfast is not served when booking. I unfortunately would not recommend the place nor would I use it again.
Great Bar and good food, lovely staff. The hotel room was clean and comfortable but the walls are quite thin, it didn't bother me but if you are a light sleeper then it could be an issue.
Free car park just over the road. Breakfast is currently from the village shop next door via a voucher which was fine but will be better when served in the bar again as normal.
Overall would definitely return.
Great warm welcome from bar staff, nice food and lots of it.
Only problem was no staff on in the morning but that is the same with numerous hotels and that the breakfast was a sandwich from the shop next door
