"Wonderful hotel with lovely sauna and bath which was a real treat and highlight of our honeymoon. Walkable to Gion and iconic areas of Kyoto in 20-30 minutes. Lots of food and transport options around. Free drink in the evening which was a nice addition. Our room had a beautiful view over the West of Kyoto and the mountains which was lovely especially at sunset. We would definitely stay here again. "

"Great location, with several transit options very close and innumerable shops and restaurants within a few block radius. Room was great, with a sliding traditional door in place of blinds, plus blackout shades behind that. The sink is outside the bathroom which is a strange design choice but common in Japan. If you are travelling within Kyoto, you may need to walk for a bit before you get to the local metro lines, but if you're instead going to be traveling through Kyoto Station then there is a free shuttle that travels to and from the station and hotel at regular intervals."
